Happy sunday from Jakarta. My real flowers at home I happily left behind. Saturday’s fresh flower market always my favorite moment. Considering my departure time yesterday to Jakarta from Amsterdam, my husband was wondering if I would even be able/have time to do the flowers in our house. “I’ll make time I responded...”
I got up early, bags and suitcase packed the day before. It always takes a bit of planning. I know my family will be fine but just to be able to do a few things that I know will make a difference feels... right. Leaving with fresh flowers on our kitchen table is one of these things. My daughter picked a few flowers on her own that will keep her company in her room this week while I’m away. It doesn’t always have to be a big arrangement. The three stems in a small pink vase just as beautiful. She will see the roses bloom while I’m away. A friend of mine once said right before I had to leave on a trip when I was working SO hard to get everything ready: “... yes it is true that women/ mothers handle things diffently men/ fathers, how it is more difficult for us to just ‘leave’... but seriously there is no need to change linnens for Every bed in the house. “
Although not actually holding a sheet in that moment in my hand, I did move away from the washing machine.
My family will be fine.
Incredibly grateful to say hi from a city I have not seen in almost thirty years. Vivid memories from when I was young. (I’ll explain my love and why Indonesia in another post) Very excited to wake up tomorrow and to get to work.
Wishing you a wonderful sunday and sweet new week from Jakarta. Back soon, I’ll keep you posted! #familylife#littlestoriesofmylife#jakarta#flowerlove#currentmood

Happy sunday from Lisbon. Blue and white Azulejos (tiles) and flowers. The best combination. One of the oldest flowershops in a city that always feels like home. In Lisbon with my family for only a few days because of the wedding from my oldest and dearest friend. Such excitement when he announced his engagement over the phone a couple of months ago. It was very early in the morning and I can still remember screaming from joy in my pj’s. It is the best thing. Friends finding the love of their lives. We have been through so much together. Dancing Lisbon and Amsterdam nights away when we were young with way too many caipirinhas and mojitos, sharing heartache and laughter, meeting our children for the first time, I could go on. Back in Amsterdam soon, my heart filled with joy and excitement in Lisbon.
Sending love from Lisboa. Wishing you a lovely sunday a week filled with joy everyone! #loveislove#gatheringslikethese#lisbonlove#flowerlove#lisboa 🇵🇹 #postcardfromtheworld#currentmood

When I was asked by the @the_greengallery to join the #happynewfloral along with 25 crazy talented creatives and florist as one of their other flower forecasters, it made me think about my floralviews for this year. Call me old fashion but I have always loved chrysantemums, carnations, dahlia’s. Carnations one of the oldest flowers. Up until a few years ago these flowers not much perceived as popular. Never in my opinion. Maybe because I will always feel affection to the under dog or maybe it is because these flowers ARE just plain beautiful and not what they used to be. I hope we will see more of this and that they will become the new favorites. I think when designing we owe a lot to so many growers trying out, experimenting with new varieties. Expanding the floral offerings with new colours, shape and sizes, I’m amazed what nature can produce. Also... how could we ever reject anything that nature brings us? Sugar flowers dahlia, carnations, freesias and a poppy taken from the new variety by @floretflower This poppy (Shirley amazing grey) has taken IG by storm. I can not wait to see it appear in arrangements by florists in this coming year. How special this grey, purple colour in a flower. Celebrating nature in this first week of the new year. Embracing the old and the new in this sugarflower stilllife (instastories).
Have a lovely friday and great weekend everyone. Would love to hear what you would like to see more of in this new floral year. #happynewyear#happynewfloral#thegreengallery#floralforecast#carnations#dahlia#sugarflowers#currentmood

Happy new year, happy 2019! Wishing you the best health, plenty of love, inspiration and creativity. I’m so happy to start the new year together with the @the_greengallery celebrating nature this week. I could not imagine my life without flowers. Flowers not just part of my work, they are my life. It would be impossible for me to create these sweet blooms without natures boundless beauty. What I find most beautiful about instagram is how we all inspire eachother. How sharing and viewing creative work can spark the best in you.
I’m in the best company this week with 25 other inspiring floral artist. More inspiration inside their gorgeous magazine (link in my bio), be inspired by the many floral icons.
Thank you to everyone putting beauty and their creativity and passions out there. Thank you to everyone enjoying the work and encouraging us.
2019... Bring it on! #happynewyear#happynewfloral#thegreengallery#inspiration#floralforecast#2019#peonies#sugarflowers#roses#currentmood

Real dahlia’s in Delft Blue gingerjar. If you would ask me to choose one (lifechanging) photograph of my sundayflowers at home this would be the one. When I started @instagram only a couple of years ago I never would have thought how it would change my life. Not quite knowing what it was all about, there was never a plan when I first joined. I can still remember when posting something with only a handful of IG friends how excited I was to receive those lovely red hearts. A couple of weeks ago I was asked if I had any wishes for the future. What my dream was. It took me some time respond. Please don’t get me wrong, not that I don’t have any ambition, but what if what happened to you has been more than you ever could have imagined. I got to work this past year with the most talented florists, photographers, editors, companies, designers just to name a few. There have been many moments I still can’t believe actually happened. “Someone pinch me right now....” frequently thought. The way that IG works is like the ripple effect. Social media at its best, I could not have done all of it without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every heart, comment and follow ever since the beginning is still received with the same feeling of gratitude and love. Only one more day till the new year. Never any resolutions. Everyday I ask myself what can I do differently. Or better yet... what would I love to do more of. Lots of plans for next year I can not wait to share. Thank you all my wonderful and kind IG friends. You are by far the sweetest. Wishing you a healthy, happy and beautiful new year. Much love from Amsterdam, Natasja #instagram#lifechanging#sundayflowers#thankyou#colourcraving#dahlias#currentmood

“In the depth of winter,
I finally learned that there was in me
an invincible summer.”
Last Amsterdam picture of this year. Unfortunatly cold and grey today, looking back on that perfect snowy day just last week. I can’t wait for summer but moments like these in my city are truly the best. A few more months till spring, will there be snow again? Would it be possible again next year to skate the canals same as this year? Brouwersgracht voted best canal of Amsterdam for a few years in row. Will Amsterdam be on your list in the next year? Wishing you a very happy new year. #snow#feelslikewinter#canalsofamsterdam#currentmood
Happy sunday from my family to yours. There are not many flowers that say Christmas to me more than amaryllis and paper whites. If only there was a way I could post their wonderful scent. Roses, tulips, ranunculus and white lilacs set firmly in place with the help of a wonderful eucalyptus branch. When the pods open this wonderful flower with the finest threads reveals itself. Christmas almost here, feeling festive already with these close to me. Have a lovely sunday everyone. Sending much love from Amsterdam. #almostchristmas#happysunday#amaryllis#paperwhites#roselove#christmasdecor#currentmood
