  • Hive Mind: Looking for some advice on #orchids I have had this plant for 2 years - it started off as just the big leaves in the pot with one flower stem. I did what the instructions said after the flower stem died, I cut it off above the first bloom & have been feeding it 3 ice cubes once a week - and LOOK at this alien beauty!?! Now, I took a pic to a plant store & the guys there tersely told me that all these growths/fingers reaching out are flower stems or will be...but they’ve been growing like this through many seasons With no blooms and I really think they’re roots looking for some kind of soil/bark/base to root in to. Anyone know if I’m right? And if I am, should I string up little floating baskets of bark/soil for them next to the plant and hope that these roots find their way to the baskets?!! Or if they are flower stems do I need to do something to support them? I am so in awe of this plant and don’t want to mess it up. I never have plants last this long! #blackthumb
