// East African Crowned Crane
The East African crowned crane is one of those animals so unusual and spectacular that it commands all of your attention. First, there is the appearance; the cranes are up to 4 feet tall and have a crown of stiff golden feathers sprouting from their heads. Along with the striking appearance, the cranes are known to perform elaborate dances that involve stick/grass throwing, wings flapping, and knee bending. Some funky dance moves perhaps, but this particular fellow was certainly charming me with all three moves! Every time he popped his head up from a knee bend, I would snap a photo.
