Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity yet to watch How to Train Your Dragon 3. I can't wait😭 And for now, here's my very old Astrid cosplay from the first part
P.S. I'm working on a new Astrid costume now✨
With a perfect storyline and beautiful animation, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World fulfills the franchise with a powerful and emotional conclusion!
I haven’t cried like this since well...in a while!
In my honest opinion, it should be an “Oscar Consideration” not only for Best Animated Film, but as another animated BEST PICTURE!
It is totally up there with “Beauty and the Beast”!
I just got back from seeing How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and man did I love it. I just watched the first two films for the first time in years this morning, and I can now confidently say that all three films are absolutely fantastic. The animation is stunningly beautiful, from the environments to the dragon designs and even the human's hair and clothes. There was a scene involving sand that was particularly great to look at. I'd like to see it again in Imax 3D, because if it was this enthralling in 2D I can only imagine how good it looks when upgraded. It was such a joy to see Hiccup and Toothless's relationship again, because their bond is probably one of the best in all of film. Considering how flat the villain felt for me, I was much more invested in the relationships of the movie than the actual central conflict. Everything that happens feels like a natural progression for these characters, and it was great watching Hiccup and friends grow up over the three films and seeing what they become. The movie is also really funny at times, and has plenty of action packed moments. Kids should be entertained, and people like me that grew up with this trilogy will be really satisfied with it as a conclusion. The ending was exactly perfect, and I may have even cried. Twice. Animation isn't just for kids, people! This movie is something special no matter how old you are. I'm kind of interested in checking out the Netflix series now, and I'm definitely planning on seeing this a couple more times. It was a perfect finale to a really great trilogy.

“ #HowtoTrainYourDragon :The Hidden World” has a good enough story, solid animation, and a heartwarming ending, but an over reliance on annoying comic relief characters and inconsistent pacing keep it from being as emotional as it should be. The female lead has also gone from a capable, strong and independent woman to an emotional support system for her boyfriend with little agency of her own (sigh). The dragon romance and villain are solid additions, and I left the theater feeling good, but this “Dragon” doesn’t fly out on as high a note as it could have. I must regrettably give this film 3/5 stars (average). Fans should still See It.
How to Train your Dragon: The Hidden World is finally in theaters here in the US! Its bitter sweet to see the trilogy that I dedicated most of the last 10 years of my life coming to an end. I'm happy and proud with what we achieved, and I'm forever grateful for the amazing experience and for being part of this family. Thank you Dean, POV, and Bonnie, for being such inspiring leaders and mentors, trusting us to help you create this beloved world!
Now, go see it and take all your friends and family with you! Happy Dragon weekend everybody!
