It was a pleasure having the youngest member of the @spartan pro team @johnpenland_ocr over for dinner before the first US National Series @spartanrace of the season. We had a nice meal, talked OCR, training, did some magic tricks with the kids and helped Dylan with his homework. We’re sending John off to Jacksonville, FL with a full belly, positive energy and a family behind him that believes in him and supports him and his goals for this weekend and his future. Go crush it this weekend John! 💪🏼🏃🏽♂️🔥
You either learn to live like a lion, or learn to evade death like a gazelle. Both animals beautiful in their own right, but also both anointed with their own individual laws of nature that they must follow.
The gazelle and the zebra can graze together as the giraffe pass by. Social creatures, they blend in, average to one another; like the masses of human society; scrawny, feeble, approachable, forgettable..
The Lion takes pride in a select few, of his kind, to hold in his company. Never to be accepted by the zebra, kudu or the hogs. Savage creatures, they stand out, they threaten, they intimidate; like the rogue humans who are willing to go against social and religious expectations, and blaze their own trail, live their own life.
The laws of the antelope do not apply to the laws of the lion, no more than the laws of the weak apply to the laws of the strong. If this offends you, congratulations you’re a sheep.
So understand this, if you are punched, kicked or knocked down in this life, you have two choices; stay down, accept your roll as victim, run with the masses to evade death, OR, you Fight, you Kill, you stand your ground. •
OBJECTIVE: Fighting teaches kids to understand personal abilities and limitations. It creates a natural order and respect for one another. When administered constructively, with clear rules set, fighting is one of the best training tools for educating and empowering children both mentally and physically.
Wow! Kinda speechless to be chosen as one of the @spartanracesingapore 2019 Ambassadors along these amazing Spartans!
I always say that I might love training for Spartan more than the actual races and that is because of all the people I get to help teach and interact with. The OCR community is so strong in Singapore and I can’t wait for all the exciting things to come this year! Big shoutout to all the new Spartan Ambassadors!
