I love getting messages from you asking if "that was me brushing my teeth in the Quip commercial" or "were you in that commercial with the squirrel?" .
It's true. That was me .
I'm extremely proud of where I am in my career but it's not something I post infrequently about because I don't think it matters .
It's just that my career and the opportunities have become a fortunate side effect of the things I've learned from racing .
At today's audition, I got to LITERALLY combine the two at a film audition for a girl who loved to rock climb, and I got to share my love of OCR with the people in room (even snuck in that it's life changing and is an amazing metaphor for life's obstacles ;) ) .
Racing and it's community have also literally given me a competitive edge in the entertainment market .
It's a different kind of confidence. It's a different kind of secret .
Booking the job doesn't define me, but what I do off set and outside the room ..does.. and the OCR world has allowed me to build myself up to the person I wholly want to be and create an image for myself that could never be defined by one person's opinion on my looks or my acting .
It's freeing to know.."hey, I got this" but also that when I walk out of the room, no matter what they say, they can't take any of THIS away from me and they can't stop me from doing things that matter .
I don't miss that feeling of desperation, walking in to an audition like my entire life is riding on this moment .
And because of this..what OCR has taught me about strength, resilience, determination, goals and the ability to thrive under pressure... I have had more opportunities than ever before in my acting even though I spend less time "studying" it .
I still have to thank an incredible team of people who believe in me, maybe even more than I believe in myself, and always have my back @avantitalent..the best people in the business. Not just Managers, friends .
@mikesfitnessjp had no idea what they were in for when they allowed me to sign up. Day 3 in a row of squats, day 2 in a row of deadlifts. Feeling really good.

These workouts were awesome! The sun was hot and the filming was long but when you want something bad enough, YOU make it happen!
What’s your next goal? Who’s doing a Spartan Race? #madfitness#spartan
It’s my fitiversary! About 5 years ago I started my fitness journey, and what an adventure it’s been. While I have changed physically, the thing I’m most proud of is how much confidence I’ve gained. If I showed the photo on the right to the old me, she wouldn’t believe that’s future her. But here I am 🤘🏼 #transformationtuesday
I fell in love with running not because I love to run, but because of what running brought me. It’s a supportive community where at races maybe people talk about times, but they are just happy you showed up. At running events, everyone is on the same playing field, literally. You don’t sit in the stands and watch the elites do their thing, you share the pavement with them, you feel what they felt, see what they saw. Fast forward a couple years and I have been able to find this in CrossFit but now get to also enjoy my love for weights as well. I get to surround myself with a community that supports my effort not my score and during this one time a year, we get to compete in the Open as a community. We get to participate in one workout a week for five weeks doing the same workouts as the fittest on earth. All along the way, there are boatloads of smiles and high fives to get us through it, together. I’m #intheopen are you with me?

How many 100 pound tire flips can you do in a minute? The best I could do today was 18, done after my last set of deadlifts (315x3) Whew! 🤪 #goodmorning#goldsgym#ocrtraining

It's not the things that come easy that teach us the most, we learn about ourselves from the hard stuff. Things like messy transitions, missteps, dropped dumbbells, movements that don't come naturally, or missed lifts. I went to class during this workout and can't wait to get home to start the homework.

In all honesty, I'm sitting on the couch like a lazy blob right now. My body hurts and I'm exhausted and I haven't moved all weekend, so I needed a reminder that I can be more than a rainy day couch potato when I want. It's all about balance, am I right (get it, balance... 🐒🐒🐒)?!
