  • 💫Resistant Weight Loss?!?!!💫" I don't understand, I eat really well and exercise but I still can’t manage to lose weight.” I hear this from women all the time.  My main focus with my clients is not weight loss but I do understand that some women have it as their primary goal.

The answer to weight loss in this situation is "never" going to be to diet harder, restrict more calories and/or exercise more.  It's simply not about calories in calories out, it's a lot more complex than that. If it wasn't I wouldn't have all these women in my office dealing with weight loss resistance! 🤓

So what is it?!? When you are actually eating nutrient dense foods and working out appropriately there is likely a deeper reason weight is resisting coming off, namely:

✔ Mindful eating- chew your food, eat in a calm environment and relaxed state. ✔ Hydration- drink enough water. Helps rid body of toxins,  builds resilience to stress, enhances metabolism and promotes satiety. Maybe just start here!!!
✔Nutrient deficiency ( i.e. Vitamin D, Mg, B12).
✔Blood sugar imbalance- include healthy fats and quality proteins with all meals to keep things. balanced.  High blood sugars cause insulin release which is a fat storing hormone. ✔Inflammation- when you have inflammation your body is busy addressing inflammation not losing weight. ✔Food sensitivities and intolerances.
✔Detox- important to support the elimination of stored toxins.
✔Hormones- imbalances in estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone can all contribute to weight gain. Leptin resistance is another one.
✔Thyroid- helps regulate your metabolism. ✔Gut Health- certain bacteria in your gut can help promote healthy weight or do the opposite.
✔Stress- high stress equals cortisol imbalances. which can cause you to store more weight in your belly.
✔Sleep!- sleep deprivation can impact weight loss.
