Had such a lovely day in London 🇬🇧 Lunch at @unitydiner , snack at @deliciouslyella , dinner at @wholefoodsuk and @livias_kitchen bites for supper 😄 .
Perfect foodie day and we also had a lovely walk through Hyde Park 💗 Veganism is not restrictive at all, I’ve eaten all of the food I wanted today and no animals had to be slaughtered or harmed. In this day and age there is just no need. Are your taste buds more important than an animals life? 😔

How to make a power-packed salad:
Start with a base of romaine, arugula or baby leaf salad. Then add in:
🍃Plant protein: ¼ to ½ cup chickpeas, kidney beans, black beans, tempeh or tofu
🍃Raw or steamed veggies: 🥕, bell peppers, celery, 🥒, 🍅, spinach, 🥦, or sprouts
🍃Healthy fats: 🥑, olives, nuts, seeds
🍃 Fresh or dried fruit: 🍎, 🍐🍓, dried cranberries, raisins or sultanas
🍃Grains or starchy vegetables: ½ cup cooked quinoa, brown rice, 🍠, 🥔
Mix the whole lot up and dress with a yummy vinaigrette 😊
Kept lunch simple today. I made a Chickpea and sweetcorn salad and stuffed it in pitta bread. The recipe for my potato cakes is now on my blog, I’ll link it in my stories 💙

Discovering @wholefoodsuk got me like a kid in a candy shop. 🤗 Check out my massive haul in my story! This morning I had @coyo_is_coconuts for the first time topped with pomegranate seeds, a fig, and @squareorganics cherry coconut bar crumbles (use ‘kaleintheclouds’ to save $$ on your order!). Looking at this helps me forget how sad I was when they took away my seed butter at security. You’d think being a flight attendant I’d be better trained. 🤦🏻♀️

Snacking on the go 🍎 •I find it very easy to stick to the healthy diet here in London. You have all varieties of healthy snacks, salads, drinks. It fits everybody, no matter you are on a keto diet, low carb, vegan or paleo. You can find literary everything and everywhere! Healthy food is affordable and available. So why vast majority of people are obese here? I don’t have a clue 🤷🏻♀️Prices are comparable to Kyiv, to be honest. London is not more expensive than Kyiv. Food and clothes are way cheaper. And quality is superb! •When we are talking about organic. Ok... you overpay obviously. But you should choose wisely, because they can put organic label on the unhealthy food. ☝🏻 Always read ingredients!
•As for this stunningly beautiful organic red apple...It tastes amazing...Like apples in my childhood) and regular apples in Ukraine 😊 •Long story short: it’s better to eat a normal meal instead of snacks, not to mess up with your insulin level and then have all sorts of downsides from snacking. But when you are on the go I recommend apples🍎, 🥑 🥕 cappuccino with nut milk, dark chocolate or a peace of cheese.
•Stay healthy, because there are so many places waiting for you to explore 🌍 •Eat beautiful. Cheers 🇬🇧
Port, Thyme and Pepper Sauce
1 tbsp of rapeseed oil
1 banana shallot or 2 small round shallots, finely diced
3 sprigs of fresh thyme, leaves removed
60ml Just A Splash Port
60ml beef stock
knob of butter roughly 10g
plenty of black pepper
In a frying pan add the rapeseed oil, thyme and the diced shallots. Fry gently for a few minutes to soften.
Once soften increase the heat and add the port, let sizzle and boil slightly before adding the beef stock. Let simmer for a few minutes to thicken.
To finish the sauce, add a squeeze of half a lemon and the knob of butter. Season with a few good turns on the cracked black pepper (depending how peppery you like it) and some sea salt. Serve immediately with steak.
