  • Stop making excuses for people AND yourself. "I'm sure they like me, they will respond or call when they are free. They’re just busy.” CORRECTION: Any person that wants you in their life will never make you question your value in it. "I know they love me, it's just bad timing." CORRECTION: The timing isn't wrong, the time you spend on the wrong people is what's wrong. Stop letting your ego convince you that other people will recognize your worth simply because you might. It doesn't mean that they are bad people, it just means that they are bad for you.
Stop letting your pride dictate that you hold on to people that don't appreciate how great you are. Your vanity is not worth your happiness and while those excuses will always be there,
opportunity won't. Holding on to people like that prevents you from any chance of having something real.
Not everyone will deserve you; that’s just a fact. Build a wall and build it with stones of substantial worth cemented together with the thickness of your standards and priorities.
Such boundaries aren’t meant to keep everyone out, they are meant to show others the value of reaching you on the side;
They aren’t meant to demonstrate arrogance or a fear of being hurt, they are meant to honor your happiness and protect you from those who prey on vulnerability;
Your boundaries aren’t meant to keep you secluded from the world, they are meant to show people the doorway. Excuses are just lies wrapped up in reasons.
Once you stop making these petty excuses for folks that were never deserving of you to begin with, by the time they realize their loss, you'll have found one that never gave you cause to make any; ever.
These will be the folks that not only will have found the key to the doorway of your boundaries, but they will give their last full measure of devotion in holding and protecting it because they know the effort that went into earning it.
People never make excuses for the things they worked hard to attain.

  • Say to everyone "be patient"🤗
Please

be patient with me
I will argue with you to no ends
not because I hate your guts
not because your opinions are invalid
but because I like intellectual stimulation
be patient with me
I'm not the easiest person to deal with
I will not accept all of your excuses
and I hate it when things don't get done my way
because I've been let down hundreds of times before🎊🎊 be patient with me
I know more than I let on
I don't like laying all my cards on the table
and I know you want me to be more open
but I am made of layers and I'm being open I swear🎈🎈 be patient with me
I am quite sick in the head
my mental state isn't stable all the time
I'll try my best to be there for you when you need me
but sometimes my demons come after me🎉🎉 be patient with me
when I'm all better and good
I'll give you what you need and your wants
I'll make you proud and grateful
I will do my best to make you happy so just please✨✨ be patient with me.✨✨🎆

  • Bit scared posting this , as I can’t really explain properly what I mean but 🤷🏼‍♀️ I am finding it hard to find my space where I fit into the ‘majority’ of society. There are different reasons as to why people don’t feel they fit in anywhere but mental illness sadly can be a cause for someone not being accepted or able to socialize and conform to the social ‘ norms ‘ that society expects. I think it would be easier if people could understand how my mental health illnesses effect my every day functioning, maybe then people would accept that due to that I am different , that it’s not the same when I try to fit into what everyone else is like, when I just can’t change what comes along with me. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing , but it is a thing. I am different and I just wish people could love and accept me for that. Don’t get me wrong some people do, but it can be hard trying to keep up appearances when inside you are working so hard to appear ‘ normal ‘ ( hate that word ) I am at that stage where I can’t change how I am anymore right now, I can’t change all the flaws I know I have in what I socially say and do , it is due bad mental health but I am working on improving it , but I also have already improved on it a lot. I just feel like it’s a bit hard to have an illness that isn’t properly recognized or given allowances to saying or doing things differently. If I could choose to not have an ilness I would, and it’s taken me so long to accept that I do have one, I just wish it could be recognized yet for me to be accepted despite it ✨ I just hope I can play some part in helping people learn how to support everyone , including those who are ill mentally or physically #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalillness #illness #disorder #recovery #recoveryisworthit #recoveryispossible #recoveryjourney #society #sociallyacceptable #acceptable #stigma #education #awareness #workingtogether #fightingmentalillness #fightingforchange #breakthestigma #lifestyle #healthylifestyle #lifestylechange #hope

  • I am over the #past when I had to reduce myself just to get into an "idealised" life on your demand, when it is even nowhere near #perfect for me. It was not even something #acceptable. I tried so hard and then killed myself so many times over and over, but thank god, I see your true colours sooner. #win #success #mindset

  • It’s straight IGNORANCE...#chakakhanchallenge

@living_the_kinder_life exposed me to this #chakakhanchallenge that people who are not of color are doing. Let me just say this, it is flat out wrong to refer to a person as a "what" or to engage your #students in making fun of a name that they are not familiar with. You, as an educator, are #teaching prejudice if you are taking part in this challenge. Did you decide to ask "What is Brooklyn?" when you weren't teaching a lesson in any way related to to place? No, because it is a name as well and there may be a Brooklyn in your class that you don't want to teach the kids to make fun of. What about a Dallas? An Austin? What about a Paige? Is she from a book? Do you teach your students to refer to her as a "what" since a page is a thing? No, you don't because these are familiar names to you so you don't see it as funny to refer to these people as "whats" as if they are things. WE DONT THINK REFERRING TO A PERSON AS A THING IS FUNNY EITHER.
In this country we people face #discrimination due to their names not being some "safe" version of what is #acceptable. As #educators, we should be teaching our students #tolerance, not intolerance for names unknown. If you didn't follow this #challenge with a lesson on tolerance then you missed the mark. You missed a #teachable moment to truly work towards making America great. This country has enough #divide, #judgement, and disdain for people who are different from them. As an educator you should not be propelling that dialogue further. You should be working to shut it down.
DON'T GO #BIRDBOX AND CHOOSE NOT TO SEE THE ERROR OF YOUR WAYS. IF YOU THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY BEFORE YOU READ THIS POST, HOPEFULLY YOU NOW UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS NOT. #WhenWeKnowBetterWeDoBetter

  • Boundaries are about what is acceptable to us. Growing up, some of us had an idea of what was acceptable to us and that was ridiculed, ignored, or incongruent with our circumstances. For those of you who were taught —directly or unconsciously— that what was acceptable to you was unimportant, I’m so sorry you learned that.
___________________
Receiving that message might look something like: things happening to you that you did not consent to or agree with; not having your needs met or feeling your needs were unimportant; being encouraged to tolerate more than you felt you were able to handle; being shamed or bullied out of feeling your feelings.
___________________
Childhoods that don’t invite or consider how our developing brain, body & autonomy is impacted by what is happening around us leaves a deep impact on our boundaries. We do not feel we have the right to own, voice, and enforce what we deem acceptable, and we carry that deep-seeded message into adulthood.
___________________
The way back to our boundaries is spending time gaining clarity around what we will tolerate and what we will not. We lean into that without being led by the scared younger parts of us that believe we don’t have a say. You do have a say. You have a voice. It matters because you matter. ❤️
