Viola Desmond is a Canadian civil rights icon who challenged the Canadian government on the legality of racial segregation in the 1940s.
I was commissioned by Union Station to create this piece based on her for an up coming exhibition called "A Thousand Paths Home" which opens Feb 5th at Toronto's Union Station. The exhibition is curated by @waninspades and also features the photography of @briannablank and @gllnmpp. There will be an opening reception and artist talk on Feb. 5th from 7-9 at Union Station so if you're in Toronto please join us.
