Happy New Year friends! We’ve made the switch from Christmas reds to winter whites. As much as I love the holidays with all the joyful, festive colors, I always look forward to quieting the house for the long winter ahead. I love the sense of peace and tranquillity a neutral palette presents. The trees are still up with only the white lights. I’ve left out the plain pine garlands and boughs, but if there were red berries, they’ve been packed away. Our simple carved wood nativity is still up as well. I cut some fresh pine to fill some bottles and vases around the house, and I’ve tried incorporating some winter decor that doesn’t feel Christmasy. I find myself being more and more drawn to Nordic decor. It is so simple and clean, yet so cozy. I’m mostly using what I have, but went in search of a couple of things I wanted to add. Hobby Lobby and Michaels have gone directly from Christmas to spring. These retailers are missing out on a whole season of winter decor. I guess it’s up to us to get creative. I’ll be sharing some ways I’ve made the transition from Christmas to cozy winter in the coming days. How do you transition from Christmas to winter? I’d love to know. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ #afterchristmas
