The new AMG GT R "The Beast of The Green Hell".
AMG. Driven By The Inner Force.
Next Level of Driving Performance.
The AMG M178 4.0L biturbo engine in the AMG GT R has an output of 585hp and the peak torque of 700Nm is available between 1,900 and 5,500rpm. The AMG 4.0L V8 engine features the tried and tested twin turbochargers, which are not mounted on the outside of the cylinder banks but rather inside the V configuration – experts call it a “hot inside V”. This basic principle of the new AMG V8 family has been further optimised for the AMG GT R. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission configured in a transaxle layout at the rear axle has likewise been extensively revised by the AMG developers to make the transmission even more suitable for the racetrack. Drivers can tailor the AMG GT R to their personal preferences using the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT controller. Various modes are available: “C” (Comfort), “S” (Sport), “S+” (Sport Plus) and “I” (Individual). The “RACE” mode optimally adjusts the shift strategy of the dual clutch transmission to the needs of racetrack usage.

The AMG A45 is one of those fearsome super-hothatches similar in purpose as the Audi RS3. Both cars are incredibly quick to blast through any challenging strip of twisty asphalt even in tricky conditions. Indeed, the AMG has a gripping combination of four-wheel drive traction and a fantastically stable chassis quite similar to a World Championship Rally car.
To take advantage of its prodigious grip, Mercedes has put an 376hp AMG turbocharged four-cylinder engine into their hatchback and its 0-60mph of around 4.0sec doesn't disappoint.
With its mighty 188bhp per litre, the A45 AMG is a genuine force to be reckoned with.
Porsche and Ferrari owners alike should keep on the lookout because the four-wheel drive A45 AMG is staggeringly fast in a straight-line. Acceleration is fairly linear, however, so it's swift rather than terrifying.
Fitted with a paddle-operated seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, gear changing is nice and crisp.
