Şuster Tarihi Su Sistemi, karmaşık bir sulama sistemi olan Sasani döneminden kalma bir ada şehri. İran'ın Huzistan Eyaleti'nde bulunuyor. 2009 yılında UNESCO tarafından Dünya Mirası olarak ilan edildi. MS 3. yüzyılda Sasani emrindeki bir Roma iş gücü tarafından inşa edilmiş. Mianâb (Cennet) olarak da biliniyor. Tüm hidrolik sistemin operasyon merkezi olan Salâsel Castel, su seviyesinin ölçüldüğü kule, barajlar, köprüler, havzalar ve değirmenler dahil olmak üzere olağanüstü alanlardan oluşan bir yapı. The Shushtar Historical Water System is an island city from the Sassanid era, a complex irrigation system. It is located in Iran's Khuzestan province. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2009. Built in the 3rd century AD by a Roman workforce under the Sassanid order. Known as Mianâb (Paradise). The property has an ensemble of remarkable sites including the Salâsel Castel, the operation center of the entire hydraulic system, the tower where the water level is measured, damns, bridges, basins, and mills. Zeus’un oğlu Işık Tanrısı Apollon, ırmak kenarında genç ve güzel bir kız görür. Bu eşsiz güzelin adı Daphne (Defne)’dir. Apollon’un içinde arzular uyandırır. Onunla konuşmak ister. Fakat Defne, Işık Tanrısı’nın içinden geçenleri anlamıştır. Kaçmaya başlar. O kaçar, Apollon kovalar. Çapkın Tanrı bir taraftan “kaçma seni seviyorum” diye bağırır. Defne ise Tanrılarla birlikte olanların. başlarına neler geldiğini bildiği için korkuya kapılır ve kaçmaya devam eder. Apollon’a gelince, bu güzel periyi mutlaka yakalamak istemektedir. Aralarındaki mesafe gittikçe kısalır ve bir an gelir ki Defne, Apollon’un nefesini saçlarının arasında duyar. Artık kurtuluş imkanı kalmadığını anlayan Defne, birden durur ve ayağı ile toprağı kazıyarak şöyle bağırır: Ey toprak ana, beni ört, beni sakla, beni koru.”

Some Roman gravestones I came upon the street, decorating the side of the mediaeval Porta Nuova in Milan. Likely built around the middle of the first century AD, for residents of the city of Mediolanum, these were inserted as decorations into the mediaeval gate during the 19th century. #ancientroman
