Dancing Bears is an embroidered art installation inspired by a tragic story.
Dancing bears were once seen anywhere in the Eastern Europe countryside, in travelling circuses and tourist resorts. In the nineties, animal welfare organisations began exposing the truth behind this tradition, being that bears have been trained to “dance” on hot plates. Once retired, the remaining dancing bears were placed in special nature reserves but never lost the habit of shuffling their feet.
Dimension: 143 x 201 cm (56.3 x 79.1 in). Motif by Vladimir Leben.
If you happen to be in Slovenia, be sure to check Dancing Bears out @mgplusmsum.
The installation is on view until the 31st of March 2019.
Down the drain, 2018 | Collage on paper board | 28,9 x 20,4 x 0,1 cm
Available and on show in “WOM COOLLAGE”, first solo exhibition of Miguel Santos Teixeira.
Soon, all works will be online. All can be bought through our website.
Through the technique of cutting and gluing several materials, Miguel Santos Teixeira composes a complex web of shredded, fragmented, patched images that, once processed by his mind, are recreated in a way only him conceives them.
The result, a small part of it, is what will be evident in his first solo exhibition, a preamble to a universe that does not intend to capture real time, but rather what lies there, on the other side, to which he gave the designation of COOLlage.
