The little things matter because great things are often accomplished by a series of small things. I sometimes think about who I am as an adult and give thanks to my parents, but this post is not about both, it's only about mothers.
I asked my mother the other day if she remembered how we use to repaint the house during Christmas and I'd use a small one inch paint brush whilst she had the bigger one which would go faster and get more work done. I said, "I don't get it, why didnt you tell me that the small brush was not getting much work done back then? "
She reminded me, "You liked the small brush and at that age you felt like you were contributing alot (she laughs), what you were doing mattered and it was important you learnt that from an early age no matter how small the deed was."
Those formulative years of positive affirmations made me into the man I am today. Please know that to your kids, the little things matter, just like this child throwing her small bucket of water into a bigger bucket whilst the mom cheers her on. Be your kid's biggest cheerleader!
