Tomorrow, Venice will host its annual Carnival opening celebrations. Two weeks of parties and events and people in costumes and masks and whimsical makeup parading through the alleys and squares of the floating city. But also, two weeks of fried treats consumed at a speed and with such abandon that it’ll feel as if this is the last Carnival we get to spend on earth. ~~ To follow up on my previous post: For those of you who do have a trip to Venice in the plans for the next couple of weeks (or want to plan one for any future Carnivals!), I wrote a roundup of my favourite pastry shops in Venice for Carnival treats — particularly for frìtole. All of them are excellent in their own right, so no matter which one your you’ll stumble upon, you know you’ll be in for a treat. But then again, each of them also excels at a particular variation on the frìtola theme (stuffed with this or that, or with nothing at all). So you can also build your itinerary as if it were a Carnival Pilgrimage, hit them all, and reward your walking efforts with a different type of frìtola at every stop. Which, on reflection, is a very balanced way to go about it. ✨ (Find the round-up via the link in bio.) #carnevaledivenezia

Notting Hill is one of London's most iconic neighbourhoods. Best known as host to the world’s second biggest carnival and home to the famous Portobello Road Market, Notting Hill is also a serious destination for culture buffs and those on the hunt for a quintessential London experience.🌸

“Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.” quote by Pat Conroy
Treasure your memories for those you can always live once again the places you been, the moments you’ve smiled, the obstacles you have overcame and the people you have met.

📷@positravelty «There is no doubt that a magic exists when morning awakens. New hope, if grounded in the night, finds wings to lift us up and permit that yesterday’s perspectives and patience be refreshed. To be present in this moment, to wake up with the world and manifest inspiration, is our favorite time to be together, yet still entirely alone.»

Love yo’self today. 💕 To be honest, the thought of traveling solo has, at times, been incredibly tough. I’ve felt lonely or discouraged or jealous of those around me who could explore the world with a partner by their side.
But I’d force myself to book the flight and go anyway. As scared as I was about the impending loneliness that awaited me in some foreign country all by myself, what scared me more was letting myself stay home. So I’d go. ✈️
And then, I realized how much I liked it. Not just how much I liked solo travel, but how much I actually liked MYSELF. Enjoyed my company. Enjoyed what adventures I could have. Enjoyed the people I could meet. Enjoyed all that freedom to think and process and make decisions for myself and work through challenges and dream without distraction.
Traveling alone has changed me. Yes, me, the undying extrovert. 🙋🏽♀️ It’s reacquainted me with myself, grown my confidence in myself, reminded me that I can be more than fine — happy, even — on my own.
It’s not that I like everything about myself, not that God and I aren’t constantly working on repairing some of my brokenness or bad habits or faulty mindsets.
But loving yourself isn’t about vanity or a false perception of perfection — it’s about being able to look in the mirror and genuinely declare that you are enough; you are strong as hell; you’re a precious child of the Almighty King; and you are lovable and even like-able despite what you produce or accomplish or do or don’t do or whether you have a date on Valentine’s Day.
If you don’t have a date, I DO NOT give you permission to sit at home and feel sorry for yourself today. Take yourself on a date — bring a book and order fancy pasta and a glass of wine and be especially kind to your waiters who also don’t have dates tonight. 🍝🍷 Or open up your computer and start planning a solo trip. 💻
All those things you’ve wanted to do but have put on hold until you have a partner to join you or hold your hand or tell you he believes in you? Stop that. Go do those things. Because the only thing scarier than doing the thing alone is letting yourself never do it at all.

A few months ago, @dianazalucky introduced me to a morning manifestation practice that’s now our daily ritual. We say what we’re grateful for, speak to the abundance of our day as if it already happened, then do the same with the future lives we want to create. Perhaps it a magical mix of living in Mexico merged with this manifestation practice, but I’ve never felt so much joy and abundance in my life. The creativity within me is exploding, so much so it almost feels like more than I can contain. I want more hours in the day to make dreams possible and soak in as much knowledge as I can.
In two weeks, I turn 29. One year closer to 30. I’ve never felt so full and grounded and in my own skin. Thank you to all of the incredible friends and family in my life who let me show up as myself, who see me and inspire me. This life is so sweet, and I’m so happy to share it with all of you. ❤️
The $10 million dollar view. Literally. At least that’s how much this condo costs! .
Singapore has limited land area. So we have many high rise housing. Most people live in the HBDs (public housing) and some, in private housing such as this one. But there is a price to pay if you want an unblocked view. The area this place overlooks is called the CBD area - basically where the famous shopping/office district is located (including Marina Bay Sands). For private housing, $1 million is quite a norm and that is at the lowest.

Sometimes I just like to sit, become lost in thought but not about anything specific. Just kind of let your mind free roam and unravel itself. Especially after a long day or stressing times it can be a very restorative action. Just bring yourself back down to earth and especially in a place like this when travelling, where it allows me to concentrate and take in the full beauty of a place like lake bled where I’d longed to see for some time.
Making these moments is one thing but not wasting them is another.
How do you unravel your mind? .
I think weekends are one of the few things that people get excited about, no matter what age. I still eagerly await the freedom of a Saturday morning as much as I did when I was 7.
Saturdays were for reading about far-off places and beating the next level of Super Mario World. They were for making progress on things that were fun and meaningful.
But when we get older, weekends aren't always the fun-filled two days of childhood. We're too tired after a long week of work, and there's always chores to do. So we end up spending our little free time watching random Youtube videos or scrolling through Facebook.
If this sounds like your typical weekend, you're not alone! But it doesn't have to be this way.
This weekend, do something that moves you closer to a goal. Maybe you want to become a better photographer, or take a dream trip to Europe. Choose one thing to do this weekend that will help you achieve that. Move the needle. See how great it feels to make progress on what you love ❤️ .
