  • Sprint and strength training in the same session?

When sprint and Strength training must be done back to back, in the same session. Plan the session according to the physical quality you want to work during your sprint training. 🏃If speed, agility or technique is the main goal of your sprint session than you should do your sprint training first. 👉 The reason is that when speed is the priority, the technique is essential. If you do your sprint training first you will be fresh and the quality of your technique will be better. On the other hand, if you do your strength training first, there'll be a build-up in fatigue and your running technique will suffer. During speed training, the accumulation of fatigue is rather weak, which shouldn't impact the weight training session and can even potentiate it if well organized 🏋️ If volume or energy system is the main goal do your Strength training first. 👉 The reason is that during a game of football, rugby, soccer or any field sport, the technique is never perfect. When the goal is to work the specific energy system and cumulate  running volume, the quality of the technique becomes a lower priority than during speed training. The fatigue accumulated by the nature of the training will inevitably affect the technique. On the other hand, this accumulation of fatigue will affect the quality of the strength training if this one is done second. ➡️ When I have to organize a training during which the sprint and weight training session must be done back to back, I like to combine speed training with lower body workout and upper body workout with volume session.

- Foam Rolling
- Normatex
- Saunas
- SLEEP
- Good food
- Flotation tank
- Stretch
- H20

Sport seasons are long, gym sessions are hard. We put our bodies through a lot..
