"I have many fond memories of crisp, frosty mornings spent with prairie chickens. On leks across the prairie the deep blue dawn is first pierced by a lone booming bird. Woooo-woooooooooooo. But as the rays of sun peak over the horizon an ancient switch is thrown into overdrive and the booming chorus hits a new high." -Judd Patterson

Thanks to all of you for your like to my latest post! It seems you like broadbill, what do you think about this green jewel?😉
Not the best quality, but what a bird!
This is probably the best photo I’ve ever taken. This Brown Pelican made it super easy for me by being perfectly still and chillin’ in good light.
Upon reading about these guys at the @cornellbirds website, I learned that they were listed as an endangered species in 1970! Thankfully, they have made quite a comeback and can be seen along the southeastern Atlantic coast. #birding#texasbirds#texasbirding#pelican#brownpelican#audubon

The greatest ever challenge known to man has commenced today.
@andres_wildlife Vs myself in a QLD 2019 birding challenge. Who can find the most bird species in QLD this year?
The looser has to carve a wooden bird for the winner.
