  • I get really tired of hearing people argue about the physicality vs. spirituality of yoga.. 🙉🤦🏻‍♀️

In my opinion, these things are not mutually exclusive of each other! You can simultaneously be a highly spiritual person who enjoys strengthening and ‘playing’ in the physical body as well.. I hate calling it ‘working out’, but I guess that’s what I mean, lol.. physical activity intended to strengthen the physical body.

I was initially STRONGLY MAGNETIZED to the practice of yoga because of the introspective, spiritual context.. from a very young age, I have always been drawn to esoteric, spiritual things.. energy work, qi gong, meditation, sound healing, chakras, bodywork, reiki, healing modalities, crystals and stones, the moon, the stars and the cards.. my inner intuitive world goes deep. Yet I can’t spend all day in my head thinking about fantastical, exciting (for me! 🤗) things, and neglecting my physical body. Sure many, many people feel comfortable in one arena, but not the other, ie. They feel comfortable with the spiritual stuff but not the physical, or vice versa.. but obviously we’re all unique individuals, and the results of all of our past experiences, often create our present perceptions and belief systems.

My path has led me to believe that both the spiritual (unseen) and physical (seen) parts of ourselves are EQUALLY important, and we need to tend to all of them.. you can continue to break down and divide your ‘self’ into as many ‘parts’ or ‘sides’ as you would like.. but let’s try to keep it a little more simple here. I said ‘unseen’ as relating to spiritual above, just in the sense that it’s more intangible.. people can and will FEEL YOUR ENERGY; whether they realize they are or not. 😌✨

We are all living at so many different levels or perceptions of reality.. and while one person might feel totally comfortable dropping into a meditation class, another person wouldn’t.. many people (I dare so most! 🙈) find the physical yoga practice first.. meaning they’re focusing on the postures and trying to make them look a certain way. BUT! This is going to have TO BE CONTINUED!.. next post 😉

  • Still time for a #tbt? 🤪Oh yesss!

Going back to 2016 when I took this picture ⤴️ with the apple 🍎 that would illustrate ALL my materiais, from my website, profile picture on social media’s to my business card. 
I just love this picture! 🥰 Not only for the picture itself, but what lies behind it. First it was taken at one of my favorite local markets here in Indy @wildwoodmarket. I am a truly believer in buying local as much as we can. 👍🏻 Second, I’m holding an apple which reminds the importante of eating fresh, healthy and organic 🍎🍏and also, the saying “one apple a day keeps the doctor away” is so true! 😌And last but not least, it was summer!! And since I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 🇧🇷 I miss warm days a lot! 😆 .

  • One piece of advise I would give my younger self ..............would be to focus on health, ........gut health and not to focus or rather be obsessed with being “skinny”.
Mind you in looking back I wasn’t the only one, turning the big 4 0 later this year ......... it was the era I grew up in. Social media, media in general in my younger years it was all about being slim......... and of course fitting in all the brain washing of “fat free” ...... man I used to abuse my mum if she didn’t buy products with that label 🤦🏼‍♀️ So happy we are now all focusing on gut health even in the media and I can teach my boys the importance of choice and balance 💕
