For World Book Day, I took out every book I own, then immediately passed out from all that effort. #booksareheavy #bookbug #swipeleftforbehindthescenes
B.I. (Before Instagram) I used to read quite a bit. Now I only read when I’m camping. This day is a wonderful reminder to put down my phone and pick up a good book. Any recommendations? What are your personal faves? #happyworldbookday
#felizdiadellibro
Reading is dreaming with open eyes 🌎💭 Making a list of must reads for next year. What’s at the top of your FAVORITE books list?! 👇🏼💗

“Karen Kohiruimaki always felt out of place in the real world. Due to her extreme height, she found it hard to make friends with other girls her age. Everything changes when she's introduced to VR and Gun Gale Online. In GGO, Karen is free to play the cute, chibi avatar of her dreams! Can Karen find friendship in this bullet-ridden MMO...?”
I received this volume of Gun Gale Online in my monthly subscription box from @lootanime. I really enjoyed the Sword Art Online series and this manga runs alongside SAO in the same universe but obviously in a different VR game which, instead of using swords, uses guns. I was excited to start this and was throughly engaged in the storyline. The main character is such a sweet and shy individual that only feels free to express herself online behind a different persona (which I think a lot of people can relate to). There aren’t many characters introduced in this volume which I liked as you never feel overwhelmed and the action is fast paced and exciting. I like the art however some of the action scenes are very hard to follow but nonetheless it’s a brilliant action/adventure manga. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Posting on Instagram after 6 days. I've taken these type of breaks before. What happened? We'll, in here, I lost a hundred profile visits and six followers.
And out of here, I had a pretty bad week as well. Almost got a heart attack when I received the news of my storage device not working anymore. The thought of losing everything on what I've been working on for all these years is devastating. It was like someone too close dying. It's unimaginable and I can't explain how it feels.
It's still not working properly but I have successfully recovered my work-in-progress. Phew!
Has anything like this ever happened to you? I hope not! 🤞
Therefore, suffering from a bad mood, I wasn't interested in almost anything. I was waking up, going to office, coming back home and reading all evening. Crying and eating in between.
P.S. The book (in picture) that stole my heart in 2018. The book that gave me my 'blog name'. The book that keeps me afloat in the ocean of life.
“In a life filled with meaning and accomplishment, Michelle Obama has emerged as one of the most iconic and compelling women of our era. As First Lady of the United States of America - the first African-American to serve in that role - she helped create the most welcoming and inclusive White House in history, while also establishing herself as a powerful advocate for women and girls in the U.S. and around the world, dramatically changing the ways that families pursue healthier and more active lives, and standing with her husband as he led America through some of its most harrowing moments. Along the way, she showed us a few dance moves, crushed Carpool Karaoke, and raised two down-to-earth daughters under an unforgiving media glare.”
Michelle Obama is such an iconic woman who I have nothing but respect for; if I hadn’t received her autobiography as a Christmas present, I would have bought it myself. Becoming is such an intimate and deep insight into her life and thoughts. She takes the reader through her upbringing in Chicago, her university experience at both Princeton and Harvard, how she and Barack meet, the presidential campaign, and ultimately her experience and work while being the First Lady. It is brilliant and heartbreaking at times. Her motivation and drive she exhibits from childhood is inspiring and reading this book makes me strives to be the best version of myself. Becoming also gives a real insight into the stress and negativity people experience when under the spotlight, particularly in a political career. I cannot rave about this book enough!

“Kurouzu-cho, a small fogbound town on the coast of Japan, is cursed. According to Shuichu Saito, the withdrawn boyfriend of the teenager Kirie Goshima, their town is haunted not by a person or being but by a pattern: UZUMAKI, the spiral - the hypnotic secret shape of the world.”
This Uzumaki Omnibus is the first work I read by Junji Ito. I’d heard good things about his horror manga and as a fan of manga and horror I had to delve into his work! So I started with the story that caught my eye the most: Uzumaki. What drew me to Uzumaki was that there is no real villain, only an ominous shape which makes it all the more terrifying. How do you defend yourself from a shape? The illustrations are detailed, disturbing, and creepily beautiful which add to the horror of the overall story. It’s such a thick book with a lot of content that is well written and hair-raising. The story never gets boring and continues to get more intense as you read on with surprising and shocking events. It’s a must for fans of horror! After reading Uzumaki I immediately purchased the two other Junji Ito omnibuses that are in the same cover style: Gyo and Tomie (I’ll be reviewing both in later posts). Out of the three Uzumaki is definitely my favourite 💖
For a while, and still sometimes now when Kerr takes a few steps back if he is sick, anxious etc, Kerr only communicated in song. People thought I was crazy when I said this then it became apparent to all.
For instance he would sing “mummy finger” to me, if he fell we got “humpty dumpy” and so on. All very relative and clever but mind boggling.
This gave me a eureka! Moment. He loved to sing! We would attend a singing group. Oh how wrong was I. He was bonkers there. Couldn’t handle it. I was deflated.
I was always welcomed to these groups, accommodated, the other parents were lovely. I have nothing negative to say but my confidence was shattered.
With this in mind, it’s gave me another idea.
This week at class we are having a Bookbug session. It will only be a around 15 mins as an introduction. if your child enjoys brilliant, if they can’t be bothered, that’s ok too.
I feel as a parent sometimes these stepping stones means more to us than the child. Finding our feet, seeing what works, regaining our confidence.
Told you I was crazy 🤪....see you Friday 💫 x #singingiswinning#bookbug#autism#autismawareness#autismunderstanding
