  • What’s your most anticipated release for 2019? For me it’s The Testaments by Margaret Atwood which is the sequel to her amazing novel The Handmaid’s Tale. It’s coming in September and I can’t wait! The Handmaid’s Tale is one of my absolute favorite books, if you haven’t read it already I highly recommend it!

Tonight I’ve made healthy vegan waffles for tomorrow’s breakfast while watching Marie Kondo. You can just call me Martha Stewart from now on😂 Also, you all should go and check out the amazing @thefictionfaery , this photo is heavily inspired by her gorgeous sweater photos! 💞😍

  • Extra update on the Starbucks guy situation:
So, I went to Starbucks with a friend from work and my sister, after work. I didn’t see him at first, so I ordered a drink and sat down. He came out after a few minutes and saw me sat down so we kind of just waved and smiled at each other.
He thought I hadn’t got a drink because my sister got one after me and he saw her get one.
So a few minutes later, his colleague came out with my usual hot chocolate that I order and gave it to me telling me it’s from him.
My friend and sister were also in love 😂
We stayed there for over an hour, just talking. And he’d look over and smile at me. I went over a spoke to him before he had to serve more customers, and then he came and sat with me for a minute or two just talking while my sister and friend got some food.
Anyway, we spoke quite a bit. Was texting most of the time. And then we left and texted me saying that he wanted to give me a hug but he was emptying bins and didn’t want to hug me after doing that 😂
•
So it was an amazing way to finish my day ❤️ and I can’t wait to see him tomorrow, he is so sweet!!

  • Selam herkese 🙋🏻‍♀️

  • I love it when books teach me something new, especially about historical events. I'll be sharing more in depth thoughts about Anna Burns' MILKMAN soon, but for now I just want to say that, although this book is challenging (it takes a while to get into the rhythm of the prose), it's an excellent work of writing -- both as a fictional story and as an informative/educational text about the political unrest between Ireland and Northern Ireland in the 1970s. There were times when I wanted to DNF it, but I'm so glad I stuck with it until the end.

Half way through the week and half way through this book 👌🏼 What a cold, frosty but bright start to the day. Must admit how much I hate being cold- bring on summer please!!! Half way through #sevendeathsofevelynhardcastle and I can't even believe the twists that have already happened and secrets that have been revealed! Is anyone else working their way through it?!? Would love to know what you think so far. I absolutely love it so far and I honestly can't predict YET who killed Evelyn 🤔

  • Incase you missed my announcement earlier in the week, I’m super excited to say I’ve launched a book club! Each month, we’ll be reading all sorts of books on the themes of race, identity and belonging and I cannot wait to get started. I’ve been SO amazed by how encouraging you’ve all been, so thank you to each and every one of you for your kind comments 💕
.
The first book we’ll be reading is Becoming by Michelle Obama and I’m just loving it so much. Are you reading it too? I’d love to know your thoughts!
.
And if you want to chat about the book further, don’t miss our discussion at the end of February on Goodreads 🙌🏻 #julietslibrarybookclub

  • I have a confession. I am basically a Hobbit. I like comfort. I like food, and am definitely not opposed to second breakfast 🍳. Whilst I’m not opposed to adventure here and there - I love coming home at the end of it. So if I was going to live in any fantasy world it’d probably be Middle Earth, in the Shire - (hairy feet and all). 🙈 And the best part? My little Hobbit hole would smell exactly like this gorgeous candle from @novelcandlesco. (Use BAB10 for a discount!) What fantasy world you most like to live in?

  • •MINI RECENSIONE 📚
Buongiorno lettori e lettrici!
Che dire a me è piaciuto tantissimo!
Voi lo avete letto?

Klappentext:

Was tue ich denn jetzt?😂😂

  • Saturday | Ian McEwan (2005) 😕 5/10 ... well I know I won’t make friends with this review but I don’t see the good quality of this book. Ian McEwan is a celebrated novelist, especially esteemed for this slow and extensive writing style.
But why though can one speak of a good style when someone is overdoing his own tricks? In this story really every detail is described excessively while the macro picture seems to be totally neglected. While reading it was impossible for me to follow the story or anticipating to where it might lead. I have forgotten really everything what the author wanted to tell me, all I remember are the horrible comparisons that were chosen not wisely.
My favorite example: the protagonist got a bruise from a tennis match (don’t know why we should even care) and this bruise was described over an page! As big as a Tomate and as violet as a aubergine. I mean 🤷🏻‍♀️ how many vegetables does one need to describe that the main character was bruised?!? 😆🙊 So now after I teared this book down I have to admit that I did not read it to the end. You probably say „how can she speak badly about a book she didn’t finished?“ you know what I can because this is something never ever happens before. I read every book I started - because everything else is bad luck 😬 but this story could not catch me at all and I just don’t want to spend time with the last third of it.
Do you like Ian McEwan?
Have you read Saturday?
Should I continue?
Did you ever broke up with a book?
