Happy Pisces season!
I’m excited to explore this season, because I’m doing some massive emotional shifting, and my moon is in Pisces.
I always am able to give the best advice to others, but rarely take it for myself (also #Chironproblems ) I am very black and white about things, I’m either 100% in or all the way out.
I feel for others so deeply, sometimes almost more than I feel for myself. I have to use people’s shadows I face in healings and readings to show me my watery moon sign, Pisces. I see it reflected all around me, but rarely take time to reflect on myself.
This season is very important for me to merge my business Capricorn (rising) and the up front, dramatic, and my trail blazing Leo (Sun, Venus, Mars, Mercury) with my indecisive, emotional, caring, introverted Pisces moon.
With Virgo full moon backing me up tomorrow, I’m going to not only make business plans and goals, but emotional/healing goals as well. Not all work makes money. Not all work is tangible. Not all work is physical labor. Some work is tough fucking work that no one will ever know you’re going thru. Carry on. And don’t keep calm. Act the fucking way your emotions are exclaiming you to. Let it out. Release. Transmute. 🎏 here’s to wonderful Pisces season, where we treat our emotional body just as precious as we treat our physical bodies. Return to the earth, to the water. Feel where we came from, and be free. #pisces#piscesseason . Original meme by @youbelongbecause ; edit by me .
Tomorrow is three weeks of not really being able to eat post-surgery, it truly is one of the most frustrating things... ever. It’s nothing compared to what others are going through, but it’s started to wear on me. For sure. Tonight I poured myself a pity bowl of Cheerios, then realized my intentions behind eating and poured it back into the box.
I may work for the @fasterwaytofatloss both on the corporate team and as a coach but I still struggle. I’m human, after all. This is the struggle I’ll have forever. For me, a reminder to turn to the One who allowed this struggle to see what He wants me to learn from me.
I remember BEGGING my counselor to show me how to lose this weight, to be healed… and all she would say was “you just have to show up daily and do the work.” I get it now. Sometimes it’s a killer workout, sometimes it’s a perfect macro chart, but sometimes it is as simple as dumping a bowl of cereal back in the box… and that’s okay. That’s showing up for yourself ❤️
Think of that happy moment. You'd take more of them, but you just don't have the time, or the money. But if you had the time and the money, you would have so many more of these moments.
So many of us put life aside because we have to work and if we didn't work, we wouldn't be able to pay down our debt... and this sickening circle of stuck gets in the way.
What do you need to give you freedom of time, and freedom of money? How much extra would you need a month to be able to have a million more of these wonderful moments that you don't have to look fondly back on.
Let’s talk. Exceptional leaders understand how to bring out the best in their people.
Researcher and executive advisor Liz Wiseman calls this the multiplier effect, whereby effective leaders are able to access up to 90% of the talent of people and organizations, while this figure is just 48% for the so-called ‘Diminishers’, the leaders who leave talent untapped.
The multipliers, display genuine empathy, curiosity and passion for learning. Now let’s put this in the context of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) because for some reason, leadership is rarely taught alongside this paradigm.
Companies say they are investing in DEI to develop better, more innovative solutions. But how many people leading diverse teams really empathize with communities of color, for example, are curious about what makes their individual team members unique, and are interested in learning and celebrating cultural differences?
Some leaders will even say they don’t see color and that’s how they expect to achieve inclusive environments.
But I’m telling you, as I sit proudly in my Latinidad, it matters if a leader sees me in my fullness. If they don’t see me, my ability to trust and willingness to perform at my fullest potential may be compromised.
And worse, if they reject diversity, they are sure to lose (or fail to attract) talent all together.
Diversity alone doesn’t do much good without structural support. The power of DEI can only be unlocked when leaders understand that people need to feel as though they are understood and that they belong.
Until then, diverse employees are forced to work behind norms, pre-established by the organization, that reward sameness. And as studies show, sameness does not lead to innovation.
With that in mind, I challenge leaders to examine how their lack of empathy, curiosity and passion for learning as it relates to DEI may be inhibiting their individual and their team’s talent potential.
My Valentine’s Day flowers from my amazing business partner are still looking gorgeous!! 💜 Coming in to the office and and having something beautiful on your desk is not only inspiring, but such an amazing reminder of how lucky I am to be living this life, how grateful I am for the many gifts in my world and how fulfilling it is to surround yourself with kind, thoughtful and supportive people! .
