  • To practice self compassion, we must first acknowledge that we may be suffering, hurting, or not feeling good.
.
Instead of ignoring all these feelings, we must comfort and care for ourselves. The same way we care and comfort when we see others suffering and hurting.
.
Burnout is real. It’s real in medicine and many other specialties. Self compassion means we are kind and understanding to ourselves!
.
Failure, frustrations, bumps, losses are human. It’s ok to have all of that. It’s ok not to be perfect. No one is. .
Happy self-care Sunday. I hope all of you are taking care of your needs and self today! I hope all of you are kind to yourself.

  • Burnout is the result of the prolonged chronic stress of situations that leave people feeling a lack of control in their lives. Certain conditions of a job can create a greater risk of burnout, including not only a high level of demands, but also unclear expectations, lack of recognition for achievements, and a high level of risk of negative consequences when mistakes are made. Burnout can also happen to stay at home moms, you feel like you have to take care of everyone, and you feel that you never have enough time in the day to get things done.⠀
⠀
Once you reach a state of burnout, it is difficult to maintain motivation to work and accomplish what you need to accomplish, and you can feel chronically overwhelmed. In addition to the strategies that work well for chronic stress and emotional stress, the following strategies can help you to come back from a state of burnout—or prevent it entirely.⠀
⠀
1. Take Some Time Off: You need rest, both mental and physical!⠀
2. Get More Laughter Into Your Life: Laughter can lead to better overall health and bring joy into your day.⠀
3. Indulge in Hobbies: Don't wait until your life calms down to engage in your hobbies, or follow your passion.⠀
4. Get More Enjoyment Out of Your Current Job: If you landed in a job you don't love, all is not lost. Learn how to make your job more fulfilling by changing your mindset.⠀
5. Set Goals - setting goals, and creating a plan to achieve them will help get you out of a rut, out of burnout, and out of adrenal fatigue (other changes are required to heal your adrenals!). ⠀
