  • Inveraray Castle, Inveraray, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I assumed Inveraray Castle might be close to Inverness (northern Scotland) I don’t know why maybe because of the similarities in the name 😂

And I wanted to ask you: have you been seeing my posts in your feed lately? I think I’ve been shadow banned by Instagram recently...... Now let’s talk about the Inveraray Castle
This castle is located on the western coast of Scotland.

It is the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of the Clan Campbell since it was built in the 1700s.

The castle is built in the Gothic Revival style.

One of the best bits about Inveraray Castle is it’s interiors which are stunning. The interiors are done up in a neoclassical style. The castle is well maintained with its old interior work, something which rarely survives in most castles.

Apparently the local village migrated away from the area around this castle, to give its owners a secluded location in the 1770s.
The grey stone used to build Inveraray castle was described to be very gloomy.

Whatever it might be, I love the fact that the Duke’s family call this castle home. It’s always that extra fun when a family lives in their ancestral home and opens the rest of the property for tourists!

  • Chateau Lednice, Lednice, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 Chateau Lednice was first built in 1222 & was gifted by King Václav I to the Austrian nobleman Sigfried Sirotek in 1249.
It was a Gothic fort at this time.

Centuries later during the 16th century, this old medieval castle was razzed down by Hartmann II of Liechtenstein and rebuilt in a Renaissance style.

Again in the following century, the Renaissance styled castle was broken down and rebuilt as a baroque structure.

In 1815, the baroque architecture was replaced and built upon.
In 1858 the Chateau Lednice was turned into a summer palace with English Gothic style. And hopefully it shall remain this way, like a fairytale castle sitting in an equally gorgeous garden.

So what do you know when I say the word ‘Castles’? (Check out my story) ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️
