Story time. This past weekend was my boy's nikkah and I was set to head out on the first flight Saturday morning. Just a few hours before I was going to leave for the airport I got a notification that my and the subsequent flight had been cancelled. Regardless, I went to the airport to try for the next available flight. I didn't make it on. I tried for the next, still no luck. I checked every airport within a few hours from me and everywhere the flights were packed. The lady at check in told me there was no chance I was making it that day. I left the airport beyond upset that I'd miss a once in a lifetime event for my friends. I went home and after a few minutes checked the flights once more, upon which I saw one remaining flight leaving. It was oversold and so was the connection, but I told myself if there was any chance I could make it just to see their faces and spend time with them I had to take it. Some people didn't show up, I got the last seat. As I was literally walking off the plane in Charlotte my connecting flight was boarding. I was at gate E, it was at B. I sprinted through the airport, thank you @solidaritycrossfit . I got the last seat, I don't know how. There are two lessons I further solidified that day:
1. The universe will always recognize effort and intention. And it will reward that intention whether in the short or long term. This is important.
2. There is absolutely nothing God cannot do. Even more important. (My mother even prayed that I would get first class, things moms do. A flight attendant came to me after I took my seat in economy to put me in first. Thanks ami!)
The look on his face was everything. May Allahtalah give you both a lifetime of good health and happiness. iA 🌞
