Happy Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes! What a beautiful day! Mike used to bless my growing belly with Holy Water we brought back from our honeymoon in Lourdes every night before bed when I was pregnant with Peter. I’ve been asking her intercession since I was a young girl! And today Peter is crowning Her with the cake topper we used on our fleur-de-lis wedding cake we had made in Her honor on our wedding day! Happy Feast! 💙🙏🏼📿⚜️
Mike had coffee waiting for me before he left for work, Peter is still asleep, it’s snowing so beautifully outside, and I was able to get some prayer time in this morning! A little prayer in the morning always brings a lot of peace into the rest of my day! ✨
When I was a kid, my family would go to 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Francis. It was a hideous, cold and empty church building with a choir of elderly women in royal blue robes who belted in off-key voices. The kind that would uncontrollably quiver as they rose.
These women are my muses.
From now on, I want you to imagine these women surrounding you, croaking their hymns not for the sake of anyone but themselves, as you do your art.
They loved to sing, so they sang.
Let's say you meet someone who is at the very least mildly interested in Catholicism. For whatever reason they are curious about the faith and have asked you to help them figure out where to start in learning. This person comes from a Christian background but at this point they aren't really sure what they believe. •
What books do you recommend this person read? What books did you find informative and helpful but not too overwhelming? And most importantly... Are there any books that you feel really speak to the message of our faith?
Let's also add that you have one shot to help this person learn about the faith and they are trusting in you to help them.
How are you going to help? Where do you start?

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Our faith gives us strength to be a hero, but it isn't easy. See such a story in @the.extrovert.movie available on VOD now! Link in bio.

"The power of words is that a life can be launched with as little as a single phrase, an uplifting word or an act of kindness. Think of the power we wield and the impact we can make if we become more intentional about encouraging our children. Our words are often the very things that help create future dreams. And sometimes those dreams are to be just like us."

“Man was created for greatness—for God himself; he was created to be filled by God. But his heart is too small for the greatness to which it is destined. It must be stretched…”
-Spe Salvi, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
How has God stretched your heart?
The Holy Gospel according to Mark
In those days when there was again a great crowd without anything to eat, Jesus called his disciples and said to them, “I have compassion for the crowd, because they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way—and some of them have come from a great distance.” His disciples replied, “How can one feed these people with bread here in the desert?” He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.” Then he ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground; and he took the seven loaves, and after giving thanks he broke them and gave them to his disciples to distribute; and they distributed them to the crowd. They had also a few small fish; and after blessing them, he ordered that these too should be distributed.
They ate and were filled; and they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full. Now there were about four thousand people.
