Motivation is a funny thing. Some days, you wake up early and do double sessions at two different gyms. Other days, you sleep through your 8 am class and spend the rest of the day playing video games & eating hot cheetos.😫 🤦🏻♀️ After being particularly hard on myself about my inconsistencies with training lately, I turned to my coach for some advice. He reminded me that motivation is purely psychological, and suggested that I remind myself what I’m training for and how I had felt when I was under-prepared. I found this helpful because I have DEFINITELY had my fair share of competitions in which I felt ill-prepared.
How do you guys deal with mental blocks like this? 💭
P.S. Any recommendations for books or websites that address the mental aspect of climbing would be greatly appreciated!!!

"Climbing teaches me a lot about life too. Every time I get scared, I am constantly reminded to bring myself to the present, no matter how unsure I am of the future. Because the present is all you can control and all that matters. The unknown can be scary, but it can also take you by surprise. So I choose to jump into the unknown and dive towards the adventure, trusting that everything will work out and that the outcome will be worth it."
