Here’s a little behind the scenes of how I decorated this Milk & Cookies Cake 🥛🍪🎂 layers of chocolate chip cookie cake filled and frosted with vanilla buttercream, garnished with chocolate chip cookie crumbs, a chocolate ganache drip, a vanilla buttercream rope border, and whole chocolate chip cookies 🎉 phew. That’s a mouthful (a really really tasty one) 😆 you’ll find the full recipe at the link in my bio, and I’ve also added an extended video of the decorating process to the blog post and my YouTube channel 🙌🏽🥳
Thank you for all the well wishes regarding my surgery.. here's some love for you in the form of cookie cakes 😊💗 I'm taking this recovery time to assess what the future holds for Sugar & Salt. I've had so many amazing opportunities presented to me, but I think I need to take a step back and slow down for the rest of the year. Part of what lead me to more surgery was not taking the proper time to recover and heal after previous operations. Family and health first.. and hopefully those wonderful opportunities will still be there when I'm ready. In the mean time, I have plenty of pics to bombard you with until I'm back in the kitchen 😋🍩🍪🎂🍦

Pro mom tip: when you’re about to deliver your 3rd March birthday, you celebrate the others early to avoid parties when you have a newborn. 🥳
My little crafty girl helped and I feel in defense of the poor spacing I need to say she decided she didn’t want her name after the 12th at the literal last second. Also, the weird larger eye is totally my fault. 🙈😂 Also, it was never planned, but I recommend this age gap 10/10! 🤗

Let me start with "I’m no professional". But I really enjoy baking and decorating cakes. I was itching to try to cover a cake in fondant, but the thought of that gets me panicking especially with bigger cakes and I still haven't perfected it. Generally speaking with buttercream, some mistakes can be covered or modified but not with fondant! And I've definitely had the good, the bad, and the oh-so-ugly experiences.
As with everything, the more you do it, the more you learn, and the better and easier your finished project is.
