DADBOD VS BEACH BOD (ish)
I used to think I ate fairly healthy and was in decent shape...I had a dadbod 🍟🍔🍕
Nutrition is key 🔑 in this game. I can guarantee half of you guys that are trying to get lean/shredded/lose fat whatever you want to call it.... are eating either maintenance calories or even in a surplus.
Don’t make things complicated... get a good nutrition plan and workout routine and stick with it. Guess what... you WILL see results.

Suitcase deadlifts and farmers walks along the platform and stairs because lifts and escalators are for #dadbods .
Even better for your core are uneven suitcase deadlifts, for example Mum and Rose’s case weighed 25kg of nappies, sudacream, Muslin squares and Ella’s kitchen pouches, Dad’s suitcase was 10kg of three shorts, three t shirts , three shoes one skipping rope and 18 vodka and whiskey miniatures I took from the hotel mini bar #everyonelovesfreedrink .
Our first family holiday was brilliant and it was good to get away, but it’s good to be back especially as it’s warmer in south west London than it is in western Greece .
I was going to take another week off weights , but my Shoulders and arms aren’t going to pump themselves, tonight’s workout is below .
A1) db shoulder press x 10,10,8,8,8
A2) db shrug x 10,10,10,8,8 .
B1) ez scott curl 4 x 8-10
B2) db tricep extension 4 x 8-10 .
C1) db lateral raise 3 x 10
C2) db hammer curl 3 x 10
C3) tricep push downs 3 x 10 .
@californiapizzakitchen for the win! Super yummy, filling, low cal lunch.
Honing in on my dry rub and grill skills.
Hard to believe I’m eating at a deficit.

Yeahhhhhh Buddddy!! This Week 2 Day 1 workout, although only 20 minutes was an amazing butt kicker!! Checkout that sweat! Had the joy of @c_dad14 joining in!
Transformation already in process. Compare week 1 same Transformers (they are called) and are used as a tracking of progress.!! Greatly improved my abilities in 1 week!
Don’t forget starting a group in Feb if you are up to the challenge.
So in this your mind begins to change as well and you gain a different perspective of many areas of your life because of the breakthroughs you make! It’s priceless!! #worleyfit#nativetexan#dadof4#kickbuttworkout
Week 2 Day 1: Burn
We got back from our mini-vacation and I needed to get in my workout. 👊 The kids asked to join me. I love these moments. .
Sophia is really getting good at these workouts. She worked up a real sweat. 💦💦 Henry even made a great effort. 20 minutes is the perfect length for them. .
Life goes by too fast. ⚡️⚡️ I know these moments are fleeting. . #transform20
💥 Hips Don't Lie 💥 taking care of my hips post leg session with these three accessory exercises for improved hip health and function 👍 .
Please note I am not wearing a @gymshark two piece, nor am I squatting aimlessly with terrible knee valgus, and added band around my knees and ankles, all in aid of excessive lordosis 🤦🏼♂️ #ifyouknowyouknow
Try adding these exercises to your arsenal. If done correctly, they will help promote hip health and inturn 🤞prevent any issues further down the line 🙌 Happy hips = Happy Legs and Back 👍
1) Ball Bridge/Hamstring Curls - Promotes hip and core stability. Targets the glutes, core and hamstrings.
2) Side Plank/Clam Shells - Promotes hip and core stability. Targets the glutes, primarily the abductors and core.
3) Psoas Band Extension - Promotes hip flexor strength and function via the brief iso hold. Targets hip flexors and core.
We are reminded today and every day that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s work is never finished and we must continue to push through and work even harder especially in these uncertain times not because that’s what we are told to do, but because it’s the right thing to do.
We must continue to fight for equality, freedom, justice, and inclusion for all in all that we do. At the Dad Bods Team, our core values are based upon those virtues. “Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in.”

“Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.” - Martin Luther King Jr
As we take a day to remember the impact and change that MLK Jr had during his life, it’s equally important to remember that we are all capable of greatness by simply serving others. The greatest amount of change comes from those who are willing to help others and continually push for themselves and others to be better!
We have come a long way since the ‘I have a dream’ speech but if we forget and get complacent then we will not continue to make strides. As with any aspect in life we must be better today than we were yesterday and better tomorrow than we are today. Here’s an excerpt from my quiet time today which was so fitting for a day when we remember a man who did exactly this!
If you want to connect with people, you must start with their needs, their hurts, and their interests. If you want to be a good salesman, you don’t start with your product. You start with your customer’s need, hurts, and interests. If you want to be a good professor or pastor or anything else, you start with people’s needs, hurts, and interests.
WEEK 9 PHOTOS: So I have a bit of a confession. It's been a long time since I've had six pack abs. Probably since my early 20s or so. Consequently, I've forgoten whether or not six pack abs are generally visible relaxed or only flexed. That said, I did a little reading on the subject, and apparently unless you have really low body fat you need to flex for them to be particularly visible.
In all my previous weekly photo updates, I've simply stood with a relaxed pose. Not trying to make my belly look particularly good or bad, just natural relaxed state. However, in retrospect, I think my overall progress and results will be more apparent if I have a tense core rather than a relaxed core, so for all future weekly updates I will be trying to be at least a little bit flexed so that belly fat changes will be more apparent.
All that said, I had a great week! Continue to increase the weight on most of the lifts, but decided to drop the wait a little bit on my barbell rows. I was finding that I wasn't getting the bar quite as high as I probably should so await drop seemed appropriate. Overhead press continues to be a challenge, but that's a good thing in my book!
I've also decided that for the time being I'm going to follow the Eat, Stop, Eat approach to intermittent fasting as recommended by @bradpilon . Basically I'll be doing two 24-hour fasts per week on my weight lifting rest days. So far I've found the fast days to be quite nice actually. Especially while doing Whole30, it's nice to not have to worry about food for two days a week!
Hey hey hey, we are the Monkeys time to start Mondaying around 😜😜💯💯🕺🏼🕺🏼🇨🇱🇨🇱!! Had a fun Monday weights session today. See my story for the penny details.
So an update and fact, results come with consistency, on bench press dumbbells I started early November with 35’s and today I nailed 75’s... a weight I never imagined I could actually obtain. I’m not looking for PR’s but they do prove progress!
Get ya some and have a blast doing it y’all! #worleyfit#nativetexan#dadof4
