Swipe to see BEFORE photo: We are doing several rooms in this client's home, bit by bit. We started in the living room because Christmas is coming and the client wanted to have a tidy and organized living room for the holidays. We moved all the books and clothes and papers where they are actually used, allowing this space to function as a place for social gatherings rather than an extension of the client's bedroom! . . . . .
Tip: If you have an overflowing and unruly linen closet, consider how many sets of bed sheets and towels you realistically require. Two sets per bed should suffice. If you are willing to do laundry often, you can even get away with only one set per bed (I know, kind of nerve wracking for some people). Consider having each family member reuse towels for a few days to cut down on laundry and the amount of towels in the house!

A utensil caddy is perfect for keeping utensils organized on a counter and can easily be carried outside for BBQs! I love anything that cuts down on organizing effort! Love this DIY caddy by @artesanatocursosoficial

A clothing rack is an excellent way to actually SEE the beautiful clothes you own, to remind yourself to wear certain items of clothing, and a perfect way to plan your outfits for the week ahead. . . .
If you are dedicated to decluttering, but find it difficult to part with most of your stuff, ask yourself what's the worst that can happen? Answer that question honestly. Sometimes the consequences can be too high, but for most things there is very little risk. You will be fine without that sweater you haven't worn for 5 years! That vase buried in your basement can be used by someone who will love it! I find clients rarely miss the belongings they purge. In fact they forget they existed at all! . . . .
Organizing tip: If you are hesitant to part with an item of clothing, but you're not sure if you will still wear it, turn your hangers the opposite way. If your hanger is still hanging the wrong way within 6 months to a year (decide on a deadline), purge that sucker!
. . .For items in drawers, add a small container or basket to the drawer and put your "maybe" items in it. If you wear an item of clothing make sure you put it back with the clothes you always wear! . . . #declutterfy#professionalorganizer#organizingpro#organization#declutter#toronto#the6#organizingtip#clothingorganizing
