📍Kept going with the React course! Loving ReactJS and this course, so far! 🔥⁣
⁣
▪️ So I learned about how React works, what's the purpose of Components, and that they should be Reusable and Configurable on your whole app.⁣
⁣
▪️ Also learned about Props, how you can pass properties to child components, and how to nest component's inside component's with props.children. ✌🏼⁣
⁣
▪️ Currently learning about functional vs class components, and that we should use functional for simple content, and class components for the rest, since only class components can use state.⁣
⁣
📍 Now building a simple App, that will get your location, and if in your location its Summer it will tell you to go to the beach, if now it will say it's winter 😆⁣
⁣
▪️ @peel also sent me a gift today! 2 notebooks and 1 wood base that is magnetic and hold your cables! So now i have my phone and airpods charger cables right there, and they won't fall off because the base holds them with the magnets, awesome! 🔥⁣
⁣
Going for a quick run! How was that day? 💻 #buildupdevs⁣

  • react Component and Props 🔥 #100daysofcode⁣
⁣
📍 So what are React Components? The whole point of react components is to be Reusable and Configurable. Components can also be nested inside each other. ⁣
⁣
▪️ React Components accept a parameter, called 'props'. Props stands for properties. Since you can nest components, and the whole point of components is to make them Reusable and Configurable, we can use props for that!⁣
⁣
▪️ In this example, we have our main component, the App component. Inside that component, we are making an instance of the ShoppingList component, and we are passing it the prop 'name' with the value of 'Fidalgo. (Keep in mind we had to import this component first, I have some posts have ES6 modules if you want to know more about this import syntax).⁣
⁣
▪️ Then, if you check the second photo, we have our ShoppingList component. This component can either be a normal function or a Class(still a function under the hood), that will accept the props argument. Then, we can use that props object to access the property 'name' that we passed in previously. This component will then render 'Fidalgo' in the place of {props.name}.⁣
⁣
⚠️ React uses JSX to render HTML, so what you see is not HTML. It's just JSX. In JSX, to reference Javascript code inside it, you have to use the curly braces, thats why we write {props.name}, so we can access the property name of the object 'props'.⁣
⁣
⚠️ The props system is used to pass data from a parent component to a child component!⁣
⁣
📍 This whole modularity is awesome because then on our main App component we can then create as many instances of this ShoppingList component as we want, and pass in a different name for each one. ✌🏼💻 #buildupdevs

  • Just scratched the epilogue and this excerpt needs no explanation lol. You can literally read the highlighted/underlined/ portions in quotation and soak up the whole book.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣ But imma still give my 6 cents 😏. On this page Dr. Kimbro is having a discussion with John H Johnson (Creator of Ebony Magazine) who gives him MOUNTAINS of game. Simple, but still potent enough to hit home. What's not highlighted is how "there is a demand for energetic, resourceful men & women who know no limits, who will MASTER his or her circumstances and who will manage his or her own business". ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
His final lesson to Dr. Kimbro was to "imagine the life I wanted, and decide to live it" that's as good as scripture. Clear cut instructions from an individual who like most of us endured a less than desirable early life but refused to use it as a crutch. IMO on this very page he lays out the keys to success & wealth. Take your pick.🔑⁣

  • ⭐️ “A galaxy of mistakes provides a universe of growth”⭐️
- for the longest time I have been a afraid. Of failure, of making mistakes, of being authentically me. This piece represents of me facing my fear of failure head on - of allowing myself to fail and realizing I can, not only bounce back from that, but develop and improve. This is me, trying to reject my impulse to self-sabotage and numb the constant pulse inside of me. This is me trying to let go and move on. It’s not perfect, but as an artwork of experimentation, it now instills me with a sense of hope. That I can get better. That I cannot let the pain of my past influence my growth. It is a glimpse into who I am and where I can go. It’s cliche and probably too conventional for some, but for me, it’s the beginning. ⭐️ Plus it glows in the dark, which is pretty neat⭐️
