Growing up, I used to "dream big” as instructed: numbers and outside recognition equated to making an impact. Everything was set in detailed plans dependent on calendars years in future. The countdown to achieve never ended. I was so rushed I automatically overlooked the small things in life. Happiness was an ephemeral delusion, for nothing was ever enough. If you become part of the system and engulfed in society, it’s difficult to not tie your self-worth to your productivity and extrinsic motivations.

Today, I live life simply. I only draft a sketch plan of today. I am hardly aware of of time. I follow the sun and moon. I got good at being alone, mindful of the energies around me, and in tune with nature and realized impact need not be grand to have an effect. I’d rather give my all to a few I meet on my journey recognizing their individuality, than a fraction of me to masses. I’d rather be free and rich in heart and soul, than a seated programmed product rich in finances. Life is too short to go by the motions unconsciously waiting for paychecks and applauds. It is too short to not live it exactly as you wish and not be your own hero every step of the way.

The rewards of the simple life are oh so beautiful: You’re content with the universal elements in this world. You see life through the lens of a child; with a newly found exhilaration to discover and allow the splendors of love in. You let the sun illuminate your soul every dawn, breathe the crisp air like a cleansing elixir letting go with each gasp, are elated when you cross paths with a flour-legged creature or see a flower budding, the open oceans become your sole unwavering home, you dance to the moon, and glare at the sky and stars knowing you’re one living miracle. The rhythm of every living element on earth become melodies to your spirit to tune with. You are human, created to become- not merely to do, and certainly not in accord to the scheme of others. You are enough.
