Experimented a little this morning on some mango chia seed cookies. They came out really good! They are #glutenfree and no sugar added. The only sweetener I used were the mangos I added. I would also add a little coconut sugar and some white chips on normal circumstances. I think that would give them a good boost. But for those of you who are doing a #nosugarjanuary these are a good treat that will make you feel like you cheated when you didn’t 😄 You could also use the low sugar version as a breakfast cookie. Recipe below, if you try them tag me!! ❤️ . 🥭🍪
1 cup frozen mango
1/4 cup butter or coco oil
3 tbls almond milk
1/4 cup coconut sugar
1/2 cup gf oats
1/2 cup coconut sugar
1 tsp baking powder
4 tsp chia seeds
White chips to preference
Reduce the mango in a small saucepan. Once reduced add in butter. Add butter and mango mixture into a mixer and mix down to a purée. If there are a few chunks that’s ok. Add eggs as mixer is on. If your adding sugar add in sugar, vanilla, and almond milk. Once mixed add in the rest of the ingredients. Preheat oven to 350 and bake cookies for 22 minutes or until bottoms are golden. .
When it did become cool to shame people for being healthy?
We work with so many women afraid of ordering a salad when out to eat with friends and being called “that girl”. It’s not surprising when social media portrays “success” as being lean and eating donuts. It’s almost like creating a hierarchy within the world of “healthy” and saying…. Salads, sure those are healthy, but if you’ve REALLY got it together you have a 6-pack and don’t need to eat salads.
We don’t like hierarchies.
We love salads, donuts and all the things and think it’s awesome to choose what you want and what works for you. But using any choice as a position of “above” any other isn’t our MOVE. for food…. Or anything else.
Being “above” green smoothies, salads or other healthy options can be intimidating to people who work their ass off, try to eat “healthy foods” and aren’t getting the results they want. Or shaming for those who just really enjoy fueling their bodies with nourishing foods. Doesn’t supporting one another and their goals sound a heck of a lot better than comparing and shaming? Isn’t it our job as coaches to support them? Eat your donuts, skip your salads but stop acting like it’s some glorified gift no one else could possibly achieve, except for you.
No one needs to fear being “that girl” ordering a salad. If the value of your salad, or your donut, aligns with your goals, order with f*cking confidence. And if “those people” have an issue with your choice, they aren’t your people.
