Hope everyones having a fantastic saturday!! Only 2 days to go in my special one week gear series....so without further delay (eh?? eh??) let's dive right in!! This is the Boss DD-3 digital delay pedal! Delay, as an effect, is used by countless guitarists and has many applications (Can you imagine Welcome to the Jungle - and by extension, Appetite for Destruction - starting any other way?? I know I can't).*
The DD-3 has been a part of innumerable guitarists rigs and has long been revered for it's ability to produce a wide array of delay tones with crystal clear repeats and incredibly simple operation. It can do everything from very short slap-back sounds to atmospheric sounds with lots of repeats to weird and wonky warp sounds if you manipulate the knobs on the fly! There are two knobs that control the Delay time (one is a macro parameter, and the other allows for fine tuning, so you can dial in precisely how much time you want between consecutive repeats) a Feedback knob (controls the total number of repeats you'll get) and a Level knob (controls the volume of the effect). There is also a Hold function/mode which will repeat the last phrase you play for as long as you depress and hold down the pedal, and a Direct Output for stereo operation so that your dry signal can go through one amp and your delayed signal through the other!*
For a no frills digital delay with simple operation that can do an awful lot, you should definitely check out this iconic pedal!! Keep rockin everybody!! *
