  • Next time you want to feel inspired, read about Nick Vujicic.
-
Nick was born with a rare disorder that has only 6 other recorded cases worldwide and meant he was born without limbs.
-
When he was first born his mother refused to hold him or even see him.
-
Despite the challenges of no limbs, of not being able to walk, of being bullied at school, Nick has achieved more than most people would even attempt let alone actually do.
-
He graduated from university with a double major
-
He has got married and had 4 children.
-
He has founded an international non-profit organisation and ministry.
-
He has launched his own motivational speaking company.
-
He has starred in a short movie AND was awarded a best actor prize for his performance.
-
He has created and launched a single and music video.
-
He has written numerous books.
-
He has, as you can see here, learnt to swim and surf. WITH NO ARMS OR LEGS.
-
I don’t want to tell you this so that you compare yourself to Nick in any way.
-
There is no value or benefit in comparing yourself to anyone. It only ever makes you feel bad and feeling bad never helps you to progress.
-
What I would like you to do, if you want to feel inspired and make progress, is see just how much you can achieve.
-
Just how much of a lie that sense of being born a winner or loser is. How much of a lie not being good enough is.
-
And just how much of a lie that sense that you are not worthy of success and all the good things in life is.
-
To see the incredible power you have, to CHOOSE the quality of your life.
-
No matter what, literally no matter what, you can achieve truly staggering incredible things.
-
Your dreams are entirely within your reach. You can, Full stop. End of story.
-
It is all about what you choose.

  • Yesterday I climbed life’s biggest mountain yet. I faced my fears and underwent LASIK surgery. For as long as I can remember my daily routine has been filled with contacts and glasses. Also, for as long as I can remember my glasses have been a hassle for my active lifestyle—and, more recently, over the last year my contacts have been nearly unbearable, causing burning every time I tried to use them. It’s been 24 hours and I can already tell LASIK is one of the best decisions I have ever made (one of the best because, obviously, the handsome guy in the photo beside me was THE best decision that I ever made). Today, I feel like I could go skydiving 😂😝. Life without the pain of contacts or glasses FOREVER is a serious dream come true. 2019, what else ya’ got?!

  • Can you remember a time where you turned down an opportunity out of fear? I remember an episode several years ago when I came pretty close to backing out because of me fears but I didn’t and here’s what happened. ⠀⠀
When Willow was just 9 months old, I had an epiphany moment about a software as a service business. The idea kept me up every night late mulling it over and working out the details. I had no idea how to go about building a team to help me get this startup running so I took to the internet and found out about a Startup Weekend event in my city coming up in a few weeks. I wrote a pitch, made a logo T-shirt and went downtown on Friday night to pitch my idea. ⠀⠀
After all the pitches were done, teams formed around the best ideas and my startup idea, Stokebox, was one of the teams. ⠀⠀
My team and I stayed up all night. We made plans to meet the next morning early to get to work on our final pitch for Sunday night’s competition. I drove home late and caffeinated. My mind was going a million miles an hour and I had an anxious, sleepless night. At about 4am I decided not to go back that morning. It was all too much. I felt bad about letting down my team but I was freaking out and the thought of simply staying in bed on Saturday was reassuring. ⠀⠀
I don’t know what made me change my mind. Probably just the fact that I’m a nice, non-flaky person who couldn’t stand the idea of letting down my team members. I did drive down that Saturday and we worked hard conducting user interviews all day. My final pitch was Sunday night and guess what? We won 3rd place!
⠀⠀
I wish I could tell you that Stokebox was a major success and I exited for a billion dollars. But of course, life isn’t that neat. I ended up doing all sorts of things out of my comfort zone because of that 3rd place Startup Weekend win. I pitched to venture capitalists, participated in leadership programs, ended up mentoring startup founders and did successfully exit from the company with a nice check. ⠀⠀
The biggest thing that came out if that experience was that lesson about my fear. Who knows where my journey would have taken me had I stayed in bed that Saturday morning. I wouldn’t be here.

  • Fine and Fearless Friday’s Feature ✨

We are recognizing @armanicaesar on this Feel Good Friday! ✨

I met Armani about 4 years ago. She was hosting the Ultimate Girls Day for one lucky girl. At the time, I had no clue that my name and story was submitted to her. When I got that call from her, I was utterly shocked and excited. In my last semester of graduate school, things were just so overwhelming on top of planning life after graduation. This opportunity presented itself at the most perfect moment. I needed to realign and refresh my mind. I want to thank her for that moment of clarity. You reminded me that I am capable of achieving anything possible with hard work and dedication. Thank you for pouring into me and my brand. You are greatly appreciated! 💗

She’s super dope and down to earth. I just love her spirit and hustle. Her success is motivation enough for me to keep grinding. You have been such an inspiration in my life. Thank you for your encouragement and support. She’s extremely talented, Mani Moves!! 💪🏾 She’s Fine and Fearless! 👑💗

  • Friends our Office Hours Series is back @she.ventures.co for 2019! We kicked off sharing our mission and first session on Owning Your Value and Worth. Head over to our FB page to check it out!

After working with so many women around the world, the key foundational piece to set us all up for success, is knowing and honoring our value and worth. Understanding that nothing external holds our value and that self love and compassion can help us recognize that our value is solely based on who we are, not what we are.
Knowing who we are and loving that being is critical in helping us go after our big dreams and goals, having healthy relationships, and being able to rise after a fall.
I hope you all enjoy and if there any specific topics you would like us to cover or if you have any feedback, or would like to work with me individually for one of our coaching programs, DM me or leave a comment below.

Happy weekend and I hope you can have a moment to recognize and honor the amazing person you already are. 💕
