  • Check this out, for the longest time and well through my twenties I was naturally very lean. It was hard, seemingly impossible to put any size on!

I thought I was eating “a lot” and I was always physically active - but I didn’t understand the actual science and commitment necessary to change my frame... so I just settled.
.
“This is just how it is - it’s how I’m built”

👉Have you ever said that?!
.
Then there was a point, when the image in my head didn’t match the image in the mirror (this is around the time I started reading heavily...)
.
I felt inside a bigger, stronger, faster and more ferocious version of myself that was clawing to get out... but what I saw in the mirror was a 150 pound, medium shirt wearing hipster, with the upper body and legs of a 12 year old boy. 🤓
.
So I course corrected - and found someone that had what I wanted (Step 1).
.
I hired my first personal trainer around 2014, I sought him out because he had incredibly pride in his appearance year round. There was no off season for this dude.
.
He had a tough training style, a standard of excellence that cut out a lot of weakness (and a lot of people from his program) - micro-adjustments to breathing, posture, form and muscle contraction... Every single session taxed my nervous system - most of the sessions I actually felt like he hated me, since then I consider him a very close friend!
.
But it all worked.
.
Over the course of 12 months we packed on 30 pounds of lean muscle - brutal lifts, regular and consistent nutrition, and massive accountability led to the exact outcome I wanted.
.
Now 5 years later I stay within 10 pounds of my ideal, I can go up or down from my perfect weight with relative ease - I can take a week off, change my diet, eat doughnuts for a day, and modify accordingly because I put the work in with an expert in the field... and I know how to get back
.
I’ll never forget that first physical transformation - it was the “ah ha” 💡 moment that I realized I could anything I set my mind to.
.
So here’s the point... You are 3 weeks in to 2019, are you upgrading the 2020 version of you? Are you putting in the work?

🎯 @davidkarli and I both make sacrifices in all areas of our lives to ensure that we achieve our goals - understanding time and how to utilize it best. We set expectations of each other early on and each respect the importance of being successful in ALL areas of life. Life has imbalances - what are you going to do about it?! Gain? Or, Blame? •

💯 Our fitness, health, wealth, family, faith are all EQUALLY important. Not one more than the other. The greatest outcome cannot be achieved with out the same emphasis and discipline on them all.
