This combo is so darn tasty and SATISFYING...plus, it comes together FAST! So, make it for lunch or dinner today, double the recipe, and store the extra servings - so your next few days are simpler! }
makes 4 servings 
Ingredients:
2 pounds large shrimp, deveined and peeled
2 cups cherry tomatoes, cut into quarters
1 large avocado, pitted and chopped
4 green onions, chopped
2 fresh limes, juiced
1 handful fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
1 Tbsp avocado oil, or extra virgin olive oil
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
lime wedges, to garnish

For serving:
2 cups cooked brown rice
.
for the BBQ spice mix:
1 Tbsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp ground cumin 
1/2 tsp cayenne powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp sea salt, or to taste
.
Instructions:
In a large glass mixing bowl place shrimp and BBQ seasoning ingredients and gently stir well to combine. 
Set aside for just a few minutes.

In another bowl, add chopped tomatoes, avocado, onions, cilantro, lime juice, sea salt and pepper. Very gently toss to combine. 
Set aside.
.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until they've turned pink and form a nice lightly charring in spots as pictured.

Add 1/2 cup cooked brown rice to each bowl or meal prep container.
Then divide the cooked shrimp and avocado salsa equally, and nicely among the 4 bowls, or meal prep containers as shown.

Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 3 days.

The quads had fallen out of favor for awhile because, let’s face it, they aren’t as sexy💃🏻as the glutes. It probably didn’t help that everyone also thought everything was bad for your knees (running🏃🏻‍♂️, lunging, squatting🏋🏻‍♂️, leg extensions, etc). However, more and more research📚 continues to show just how important the quads really are for reducing the risk of ACL re-injury, rehabilitating from various knee pains, and even improving the function of the elderly.

So how do we effectively train the quads? We load them! Concentrically, eccentrically, and isometrically during various tasks at varying speeds.

Notice how I didn’t include any barbells or machine movements here. Most PT clinics won’t have them, many people don’t have a gym membership, and some people just aren’t comfortable getting under a bar to squat. No problem!

Here are some options to start training the quads with little to no equipment (SEE LIST BELOW👇🏼). As you get stronger, you’ll likely have to add more external load🧱. If you’re returning to a sport, you have to include running, jumping, landing, cutting⚽️, etc but that’s beyond the scope of this post.

  • I know this page is for body positivity and self love. Something I want to share with you guys is, I love myself but I don’t necessary love the body I am living with.  I really want to focus on getting healthier over all. Physically and mentally. And when I say physically, I don’t mean becoming skinnier, I want to better my insides and live a longer life because I do have some unhealthy habits. Sooo I invested in some badass tennis shoes, joined @onepeloton, have a bad ass heart rate monitor and going to start working out & eating healthier. So if anyone wants to be virtual work out buddy, let’s do this! .

  • Whoop whooop aufstehen Leute, die Sonne scheint. 🌞❣ Ich bin super froh, gestern Abend um 20 Uhr nochmal ins Gym gefahren zu sein. Das restliche Wochenende wirds nämlich schwierig, da ich nur auf Achse bin und auch noch Koffer packen muss. 🤩 Gleich geht's nach Heilbronn zum Treffen vom @instacafeheilbronn und freu mich auf einen tollen Tag mit lieben Mädels. 💓 Was habt ihr schönen geplant? Habt ein tolles Wochenende. 🌞🐦🌷

The depth of the squat is what we are working on, but those walking Lunges will make a lifter out of you. We will make monsters out of them if they stick to the consistency!

I Did Full body strength training mixed with some HIIT. I’m really trying to get my fupaaaaaaa flat 😩😩😩 it’s so hard... But imma keep trying though 🙃 It’s Day 49 of #gymshark66
