I would like to take this time to say thank you for posts, texts, phone calls, wishing me a Happy Birthday. I’m extremely thankful to reach the young age of 48 because my mother’s life was limited to just 47 years. I am a big advocate of being positive in all things and I never question God’s will. This one is for you momma. #48#forward

- it is our victory because it takes a whole team to get you there. I don’t know if people quote understand what Boxing does for me. It’s an outlet for sure. It keeps me on the straight and narrow with food and training and that kind of thing . But it’s the other stuff that comes with it that’s the best.
- it’s the inch life. That little tiny changes bring massive gains. My coach ( phill shatford) has really shown me that. That it’s better to spend more time and effort on drilling and perfecting the basics, the foundation is the way home. Our game plan yesterday was pretty simple, be first and last, and nothing fancy. Long jabs, chin down. Body, head, body. And don’t fuck it up. You’ve done all the work now trust yourself.
- it was unbelievable to have my family go to so much effort to be there. Hours and hours in the car after a long day at work, hours mucking around killing time waiting for that 6 min. - my son in my corner. It is wonderful to have some common ground to talk about. Somewhere to meet in conversation and understand. A place to appreciate where the other is at. The look on his face when I finished and he says to me as he takes my gloves off, I have never seen you fight like that! - to have my fiancé look at me with such obvious pride and admiration on his face. And that was before I stepped in the ring. And for all the effort gone to just to get there without any complaint.
- boxing is the place I meet myself. Where I can see what I’m made of and what I’m not. Where I can control the amount off effort and learning but I can’t control the outcome. It’s where I can apply myself but I still have to wait to see the outcome. Every training is a journey in and of itself. Every time I turn up for boxing, it turns up for me.
