We’ve shown our place what feels like 1,387 times in the last two days and I kind of feel like 😆😰😢💔❤️☺️😰😳🤪 .... that. But the plus side? My house has never stayed this clean for longer than .67 seconds. 🙌🏻 so I’m calling it a win.
My heart is literally breaking in a million little pieces every time I think about leaving, but I’m choosing to focus on what’s ahead, and choosing joy. We’ve learned and grown so much in the last three years since we bought this old fixer upper, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I don’t ever want to look back at this one precious life I’ve been given and say, “I wish I would have....” because this is all we get. This is now, friends. Carpe Diem! ... and no regrets! ✨💛✨
Many moons back the lovely folks at @rugandweave interviewed me for my take on minimalism. I never shared it with you all but with all the Marie Kondo excitement going on I think now’s the time. Link in bio if you’re interested! 😄
Finally...if you love the rug here and the beautiful Qashqai one in my bedroom they are courtesy of @rugandweave (who made me fall in love with Qashqai rugs 😍🤩😪)

You know that scene in The Christmas Story where Ralphie gets his tongue stuck to the pole? Maren did that in real life tonight. She was looking out the window of our storm door at Reed and somehow got it stuck and pulled it off before we knew. It was traumatic for everyone, but she'll be ok.
We went to Barnes and Noble to read fun books and cuddle with her, to try and help her feel better. Then we did what any true Minnesotans would do in a -21°wind chill — we got ice cream at Culver's, sat next to the fireplace, and facetimed grandma and grandpa. It didn't completely heal her mouth, but she sure seemed to feel better.
It was a big night for the Miller’s tonight - Mike Miller got inducted into the Union High School Athletics Hall of Fame. And although I tried my best to convince him he should wear his baseball pants to accept his award, he didn’t go for it 🤷🏻♀️😜. We’re pretty darn proud of him and it was fun to be back at our stopping grounds and the place we met and fell in love - Union High School! Hope your weekend is off to a good start. Head to stories if you wan to see some of the awards ceremony from tonight 💗

Don’t mind me...I’m just drooling over all the beautiful blue and white inspiration at @dallasmarket ! So excited to be here, follow along in my stories for the next few days!!
I’ve made it no secret that I’m not the handiest person — I come up with the ideas, I delegate, but I do not execute, LOL.
For “tough” projects, they just never turn out how I envision em in my head & so I thank God for my husband! Lord knows that wallpaper install in my daughter’s room might’ve gone a whole other way without him involved!
But, if you checked out my latest video (link in bio) then you know I recently installed new backsplash in kitchen by myself…with my daughter home…with no assistance!
I tell you no lies!! Where do you draw the line at doing it yourself, and are more than happy to hand it oft your significant other or hire it out all together?
We are having the weirdest weather this year in Nova Scotia. It seems Mother nature is not sure if she should be giving us Fall still or A full-on Winter. So, many days look like this where we are watching waiting to see what's going to happen next. Anyone else in the same boat? We have been swearing by the @WeatherNetwork app and their full Winter Forecast on theweathernetwork.com to not only keep us up to date with everything from sunrise and sunset times, to seeing where we are at on the radar map in the midst of another storm and plan ahead. Also, for you fellow parents, I'm sharing a little mom hack over on my stories for making your mornings easier. #WinterForecast#TheWeatherNetwork#sponsored

There are two common hurdles that stand between people and the changes they yearn for: time and money.
That it will take a not insignificant investment of time and money to achieve one’s desired results can be a tough pill to swallow.
Ours is a culture that prefers shortcuts to hard work and band aid fixes over sustainable solutions. And there is an endless content supply available to us touting and tutorial-izing these resource-poor changes. Get shredded abs in five seconds! Get a perfectly organized home in a week! Your step-by-step, commitment-free, effortless guide to fixing your life, for absolutely, completely free!
Sure, a person can employ a short cut on the cheap.
They can keep buying more plastic bins instead of spending the time to thoroughly edit their stuff, can keep buying cheap, poor quality goods that fail quickly rather than paying more for higher quality, longer lasting offerings, can keep taking in the old engine for repair rather than buying a new, more powerful one, can keep running at breakneck to keep up with their busy schedules instead of pausing to examine where they’re wasting time, can keep making do without necessary upgrades and keep suffering the consequences.
These short-term actions will sting less in the moment. They’ll pose as being cheaper, quicker, easier. And, usually, they will uphold the status quo. But they won’t get you ahead.
All those cheaper purchases and corner-cutters add up…often to more than a few, carefully considered purchases, and intentional, constructively used time.
In a fittingly counterintuitive twist, the best way to save money is often to spend money, and the best way to save time is to spend time. The best investments are usually ones that surpass short-term needs and expectations and, instead, pave the way for lasting, life-enriching, well-being-supporting results.
Nothing is free in this life. And if there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that the bill always, eventually comes due. You pay in money or you pay in time or you pay in contentment. Take care that you spend these forms of your energy wisely.

Got a photo shoot here at the ol homestead on Sunday so I’ll be cleaning house the next two days. It’s always nice to have something that forces me to do a deep clean because otherwise I’ll just put it off forever 😂
Any exciting plans this weekend?
