I gymmed twice in the last week and a half. Life kids... life happens. Sickness happens. Bouts of depression happens. It’s real, I get it, and I understand. I use to have the “no days off mentality” until I put my health first. You need days off. You need rest. You need recovery not just for your physical state but your mental health as well. Some days you drive to the gym just to leave and take the long way home bawling in worship to Jesus and THAT is okay. Let it out. Cry. The gym will always be there and you won’t lose your muscles. Swear. And if I do NOT stop coughing... I’m. Gonna. Lose. It. All. 🙃 Happy Monday.

Peep those rosey cheeks after burning 1100 calories! Such a good workout and I'm actually sore already and it's only been a few hours. The workout was a mix between pound and zumba. I'm always up for a little dancing but pound was awesome. The best songs and the best atmosphere for sure! Ich mache eigentlich nur #restdays wenn ich keine Zeit zum trainieren habe 🤷🏼♀️ Wie viel mal trainiert ihr pro Woche? Habt ihr einen fixen #restday ? 😊 Ich wünsche euch einen tollen Dienstag! ☀️

Another #LegDay in the books. Had a #hot date with the Squat Rack. She abused me, 6 sets of 10, finished up at 295 lbs. Still got in a lower intensity 25 min HIIT too. I like to keep things fun. If you can't do that, you're doing it wrong. Let the recovery begin. Bring on the recovery #changinglives

Sorry I’ve been mia recently. I haven’t been so active on here or any of my platforms recently. .
Ive been supper stressed to the point where it’s unhealthy. I have a lot going on and instead of dwelling on it I’m doing things to change it. I’ve been focusing more on myself and life changes.
A few factors have been stressing me out... but the main one is my skin. My skin has been breaking out nearly uncontrollably. It’s due to a few different factors. I’ve narrowed them down to a few things.. • STRESS- stress is known to cause acne and breakouts but the more I breakout the more I stress out. I feel uncomfortable going to a public gym or having to wear makeup to covert my skin so instead of holding off on the gym, I’m using my basement gym. Working out is a great stress reliever and it’s been helping me... • ALCOHOL- when I go out with my friends and have a few drinks it affects my skin HORRIBLY. It is known to change your hormones which can cause hormonal breakouts. It also dehydrates my skin like crazy, which causes my skin to create more oil and cause acne and painfully dry skin.. • FOOD- when I eat anything that contains an animal product, especially cheese. Although I love cheese I’ve decided my skin and mental health is far more important...
WHAT IM DOING TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS.
• I’m monitoring my stress and doing activities that reduce and control stress.
• I’m not drinking when I hangout with friends and if I do I’m paying close attentions to my skins changes.
• I’m taking ashwagandha which helps balance hormones and reduce stress (works well for me).
• I’m moisturizing my skin with coconut oiled lotion. • Not using the sauna as much, and if I do I moisturizer before and immediately afterwards..
• I changed my makeup from powder to tarte vegan and hydrating makeup.
•I recently went vegan (exactly one week ago) and my skins already doing so much better!
Reminding anyone out there who struggles with skin issues and acne that you’re not alone. It can really take a toll on your mood and confidence but keep your head up. Remember it’s temporary and there are ways to solve the issues. LIFE IS SHORT, ENJOY IT! #emilybridgesfitness
