  • First impression review of Happy DeathDay 2U. First of all, you will read that this movie has “switched genres” with this sequel. Well this is not a genre switch, we applaud creators With their ability to take the original film and double the storyline in quantity and quality.

Protaganist “Tree”, after working tirelessly and fearlessly to break her horrible death loop must relive the pain while her acquaintance (Ryan), gets trapped in the same loop. Having some background information on the topic, she sells his problem fairly quickly only to find herself trapped again in the very same loop.
SPOILER ALERT!!! (Stop now if you haven’t seen)

The multiverse theory is now introduced to the plot of this film. Tree’s new loop is slightly different when it comes to the personality and relationships of her known acquaintances, leaving her puzzled. This film makes a HUGE leap with the introduction of Tree’s mother with whom she is reunited in this New universe. At this point, HDD2U becomes an emotional tale of choice, love and selflessness, without pulling away from the big picture of “there’s a scary dude with a knife trying to kill me”. There’s plenty more to the plot but hey, go see it! In all, we give this film a HUGE note of approval and wait anxiously for a third film. Cheers!

  • Spent my family day watching Death Day 2.
I would rate this 3 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It is just like the first one but now they thought of more unique ways to kill yourself and some of the scientific methods to multiple dimensions that would cause her to live the same day over again. I did however find the this one more predictable then the first

But please let me know what you think

  • Happy Death Day 2u is the very unexpected sequel to Happy Death Day that happened way too soon. The film expands on its science of days resetting in a very unneeded way. In one scene where they are verbally explaining the rules of time, the next scene they immediately break it. The movie is not absolute trash, but god is it ever stupid. The film also loses its horror element like 20 minutes into it, the other hour and twenty minutes is just a sci-fi movie that defies its own rules. If you liked the first one as a horror movie its actually hard to say if you’d like this one. Check it out if you really want -

  • Happy Death Day 2U

In Happy Death Day 2U, we find ourselves starting off right where the first film ended. This time around Ryan, Carter’s roommate finds himself having the same dreams Tree did in the first film. However this time around, we learn that Ryan’s failed science experiment is what caused Tree to relive the same day over and over again.

As far as sequels go, Happy Death Day 2U ramps up the comedic elements from the original and minimizes the scares this time around. The film however is still oddly enjoyable, and fills in a ton of answers from the first film.
Jessica Rothe steals the show once again as Tree, the sorority girl who relived the same day over and over to solve the mystery of who was the baby faced killer. However this time around due to Ryan’s failed science experiment she is sent into an parallel universe, and in this universe everything is completely different.
Writer-Director Christopher Landon turns this slasher film into a more science fiction driven comedy. There isn’t much in terms of thrills or scares this time around, but he does focus solely on his characters a bit more. We learn a lot more about each of the characters from the first film along with some new supporting characters, and with some deeper emotional twists we are left with a truly satisfying film.

Happy Death Day 2U won’t scare you too much, and features a pretty confusing sci-fi driven plot. However due to the strong performance from Jessica Rothe, the film works due to a strong emotional center that makes up for the scares that the original film worked best with.
3.5/5

  • Happy Death Day 2U (2019). Lately I have been seeing everywhere that this movie wasn't good and all of that but I honestly loved it. The reason it did so bad at the box office is because it wasn't being marketed well at all. And to everyone who is saying it is garbage when you haven't even seen it yet, go watch it and then tell me it was garbage. Now I am aware that it was not a perfect film and definitely not better than the first one but it was still pretty damn good. It felt to me like a mix between Flashpoint and Scream 2 and the new dynamic with the alternative universe was pretty great too. Definitely go check it out. (This is a repost btw, my last post got taken down due to copyright because I recorded the post credits scene for yall.) #horror #horrormovies #shudder #horrorfan #universal #universalstudios #blumhouse #happydeathday #happydeathday2u
