This combo is so darn tasty and SATISFYING...plus, it comes together FAST! So, make it for lunch or dinner today, double the recipe, and store the extra servings - so your next few days are simpler! }
makes 4 servings 
Ingredients:
2 pounds large shrimp, deveined and peeled
2 cups cherry tomatoes, cut into quarters
1 large avocado, pitted and chopped
4 green onions, chopped
2 fresh limes, juiced
1 handful fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
1 Tbsp avocado oil, or extra virgin olive oil
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
lime wedges, to garnish

For serving:
2 cups cooked brown rice
.
for the BBQ spice mix:
1 Tbsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp ground cumin 
1/2 tsp cayenne powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp sea salt, or to taste

Instructions:
In a large glass mixing bowl place shrimp and BBQ seasoning ingredients and gently stir well to combine. 
Set aside for just a few minutes.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until they've turned pink and form a nice lightly charring in spots as pictured.

Then divide the cooked shrimp and avocado salsa equally, and nicely among the 4 bowls, or meal prep containers as shown.

Detox diets are widely promoted as a healthy way to lose weight and cleanse the body. The truth is that there is no quick fix. If you’ve spent the past five years eating junk food, you can’t expect to be "cleansed" in few days.

What exactly are detox diets? Their ultimate goal is to cleanse the body from harmful substances, often called toxins. Detox diets are usually very restrictive and limited to only juices, teas, or other drinks. Therefore, if you are on detox diet, you are probably eating far less calories than your body needs to function properly. Yes, you will lose weight if you are not eating enough calories, but not in a healthy way...

So does the body even need to detox? The short answer is no. Your organs do a great job in removing harmful substances; toxicity is actually best addressed through proper nutrition, not a "detox" diet that will do more harm than good.

If you are having a healthy, balanced diet consisting of whole foods, you don’t need a “detox” to begin with, nor should you feel bad for yourself if you eat processed food from time to time. Focus on eating nutritious food on a daily basis, because it's healthier, tastier, and won't force you to starve and torture yourself like a fad detox diet would.

  • President’s Day Parfait anyone? 🇺🇸🤪 haha. I officially don’t know how all the amazing and creative foodie instabloggers make their perfectly layered parfaits because this was a mess 😂. Buuut as soon as I saw both @fage and strawberries on sale this week I knew I had to try 💁🏼‍♀️. I made some strawberry chia jam for the middle layer and completed it with my favorite @larkellenfarm grainless granola - vanilla cinnamon! 😍. •

  • The color scheme for this weeks meals is red! The usual breakfast (oatmeal and a baked egg/egg white frittata with veggies), Turkey pepperoni and oranges for snack, deconstructed stuffed pepper for lunch, rice cakes and protein shake for snack, and then a chicken salad for dinner. Pop tart bites as needed for post workout ;)
• recipe for deconstructed stuffed pepper •
-2 lb lean (93/7) ground beef, (can swap for bison, turkey or other ground meat)
- 3 red bell peppers
- Mexican rice (4C cooked)
Brown the meat and spice. I use garlic, onion powder, salt and pepper. Paprika and cayenne add a nice zing too! Drain the meat (I weigh at this step). Dice up the red pepper and then sauté. Cook your rice. Once the peppers are done (7 min about), add the meat and rice back in. Mix well and taste test to see if it needs anymore spice!

I absolutely love this meal. It’s quick and easy to make, super tasty, reheats well, and for me helps with digestion! If you aren’t on a tight meal plan, throw a dollop of sour cream on top before eating!

If you want to build muscle then you'll need to get enough protein.

If you find yourself eating more foods on the right than on the left, then you're going to have a MUCH tougher time getting your protein.
-
When in doubt, try to get one of the foods on the left at each and every meal. This will make it much easier to hit your protein requirements for the day.

How much protein? Aim for 0.82g/lb/day MINIMUM. So if you're 200lbs, you want a minimum of 164g.

Ein anderes Thema ist mir aber auch noch eingefallen, auf das eingehen will: Trainingspläne und vor allem das Notieren der eigenen Leistung bei jedem Training.

Ich hatte dazu schonmal eine Umfrage gemacht und viele hatten abgestimmt, dass sie ihr Training nicht notieren.

Wenn man nur just for fun trainieren geht, ist das ok. Aber wenn ihr wirklich was erreichen wollt, dann müsst ihr euch steigern. Und um das zu kontrollieren, ist es ratsam das Training zu protokollieren 👌. Nur so könnt ihr sehen, ob/wo ihr Fortschritte macht und ggf. etwas ändern.
