Ronnie is a 14-month old Great Dane whose life was SAVED because he was ABANDONED.
Let's cut right to it: Ronnie was bought solely for the purpose of breeding. He came to us extremely dehydrated and with diarrhoea (which is indicative of neglect and improper keeping), small wounds all over his hind limb paws, and a dazed, miserable look in his eyes. We don't know what's worse -- the fact that Ronnie was purchased to serve as a breeding machine, or that he was discarded simply because he has a badly formed hip, which is very likely because he was kept in cramped conditions with bad nutrition! We can't believe we're saying this, but we're GRATEFUL that Ronnie was abandoned and surrendered to our care because he would have surely led a MISERABLE life (and possibly early death) at the hands of his previous owners. Ronnie is extremely depressed, to the point that he won't even eat. We are doing everything we can to help this timid, incredibly gentle boy to come out of his shell and know that he is finally safe in a place where he is loved. But we NEED YOUR HELP to see it all the way through.
Ronnie is going to need 24-hour observation, IV drips (to help him regain his strength), daily wound dressings, antibiotics, and a LOT of emotional rehabilitation. PLEASE help us show Ronnie that a brighter side of humanity exists! Contribute towards his care by clicking the link in our bio. 😊
