  • When healthy food breaks the bank while fast food burgers cost less than a cup of soda 😡
.
This, my friends, is why for the first time in human history, there are more overweight people walking the earth than underweight. Why might this be? Well for one, our planted landmass in the United States is largely taken up by wheat, corn and soy production. We eat much of these subsidized crops, but also a lot of it is refined into oils and sugar that is then fed to cows (which also get a hefty subsidy.)
.
5% of the planted landmass in the United States is dedicated to growing vegetables, which is perhaps one reason why they're relatively so expensive! 90% of Americans do not consume enough of them, according to the CDC, and may explain why the same proportion is deficient in at least one vitamin or mineral.
.
When you consider the research showing how one large daily salad (something I'm an advocate for and talk about in my book Genius Foods) might actually prevent brain aging, it becomes evident that society seems to want youthful, high performance brains to be a privilege of the upper class. Maybe that’s it’s way of maintaining the status quo. But I think we can change that. What say you?

  • 485 calories vs. 483 calories⠀
⠀
VOLUME: For my clients who struggle with reducing their intake when wanting to lose weight, I really focus on WHERE calories are coming from......A lot of my clients say they feel like they are eating more than ever whilst loosing weight with me.... simply down to calorie education. Surely a sandwich, an apple and popcorn is more satisfying than one sandwich?⠀
⠀
⠀⠀
⠀
Being smart with your calories can help you achieve your goal. Eating well doesn't have to mean eating less. It doesn't have to mean RESTRICTING. It can mean making smart choices🤓and making the most of your calories.⠀
⠀
⠀⠀
⠀
Food preparation can be a hassle but can help so much when working towards specific goals whether that be weight loss or gain. There are no added ingredients that you are unaware of and you have complete control of what goes into your meal. At the end of the day if you can't pronounce the ingredients on the packet, is it really good for us?⠀
⠀
SUPERMARKET SANDWICH VS HOMEMADE⠀
⠀
..both egg mayonnaise,⠀
⠀
both 2 slices of bread...⠀
⠀
....so what's the difference???⠀
⠀
How can 2 sandwiches have such a difference in calories and be so similar???⠀
⠀
⠀⠀
⠀
SHOP BOUGHT - sandwich contains 485 calories however it doesn't seem any bigger than the homemade option... the only difference will be the use of sauces and again.. invisible calories.⠀
⠀
⠀⠀
⠀
HOMEMADE - 324 cal 2 slice wholemeal bread, 1 egg, 50g egg whites, cress and extra light mayonnaise.⠀
⠀
⠀⠀
⠀
This is simply to remind you how preparing your own food can help you so much when working towards your goals... often shop bought foods have lots of extra unnecessary ingredients and calories in!⠀

  • WHAT HAPPENS WHEN LIFE TAKES OVER?
•
It is common to fall ‘off-track’ when life gets busy.

Whether it’s good stress or bad stress, it can be difficult to keep on top of things when life gets in the way. Meal prepping and gymming might be the last thing on your mind👀

So what do you do?

Simple.

Just whatever you can.

Life has been a bit crazy this week. Rather than coming up with new meal ideas, I’ve been living off tuna, wraps, stir fry veg, yoghurt, protein bars/shakes... Lack of sleep = lack of energy in the gym but I’ve just been giving the max amount of effort that I can each day, even if that’s less than normal.
•
The main thing is not to feel bad about it. I’ve had a great week 😂

Life happens and that’s okay. As long as you’re still putting the effort in then you’ll keep moving forward 👌🏼

  • An update on the “long term vision” of Bake Balance:
.
Sunday is my baking day, Monday is my posting day. Orders received by Wednesday evening every week will be guaranteed to be baked on Sunday that week. Having this few day gap ensures I have time to get ingredients and process orders alongside university and my personal training shifts. ❤️
.
My brownies are freshly baked and made to order. I have a website under development where this whole ordering process will be made easier, but this “test run” phase has operated through bank transfer. I will have a subscription in the long term where you can get your brownies at a frequency that suits you (weekly, biweekly, monthly) and be enrolled in my Bake Balance VIP club.
.
I can’t wait for all of you on the waiting list to try my brownies! #bakebalance #indulgentenergy

Credits: @chadhargrove1 (@save.repost)Ah cardio and abs.
-
Translated, it basically means “I’m looking to work on my 6 pack” in most gyms.
-
“Gotta get this belly fat, so it’s cardio and abs today”.
-
Problem is, cardio has no definite effect on fat loss. Hell, you can get fat doing cardio. Plenty people do they just stop doing cardio once they realize that’s clearly not working.
-
(That’s not because cardio makes you fat either, btw)
-
The other problem is “abs”, like any ab exercise, has borderline zero effect on burning belly fat.
-
No ones gotten anywhere doing cardio and abs, unless their intention was just to go to the gym. For the sake going.
-
So what to do at the gym that actually does something?
-
Honestly, this little workout has a strong chance to help, especially if you get the nutrition stuff right.
-
A) Squat (any variation) 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps
-
B) Bench Press (DB or BB) 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps -
C) Deadlift (trap bar or Romanian) 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps
-
D) Barbell or DB Row 3-4 sets 8-12 reps
-
E) Farmer Carry 3-4 sets of 40 meters
-
Switch E for any split squat or lunge variation for 3-4 sets of 8-12
-
Take a 90 sec-2 minute break between sets. If you can get 12 reps at a certain weight, add very little weight. Do more weight or a few more reps each time.
-
Start light if you’re not sure how much to use.
-
Do that for like 2-4 months. Feel free to throw anything else on top you really want for 10-20 minutes extra.
-
If you’re not getting results, you’re not being consistent or you’re not getting nutrition right? -

  • Essen und Sport - Sport und Essen 🤯 LANGWEILIG 😱
.
#susiscommunity

  • Everybody wants to be an online coach... but what does it take to be a good one?
⠀
It literally takes 6 weeks to get a level 2 & 3 PT qualification...
⠀
Most people who are freshly qualified don’t actually know what it takes to be a decent personal trainer without practical experience... let alone have the ability to be a good online coach.
⠀
Online coaches need a certain degree of intuitiveness to do it well, & that comes from having done hundreds & thousands of hours of practical coaching with people of different abilities & goals.
⠀
Working as a PT before online coaching allows you to:
⠀
1. Experience working with people from all backgrounds
2. Learn to manage unexpected physical/health problems
3. Learn to manage clients with injuries
4. Learn to communicate (harder than you think!)
5. Learn to teach practical application
6. Figure out what type of coaching style you enjoy most & works best for you & your clients
⠀
This list could carry on forever but I’m going to leave it at that... & remind you that above all, authenticity is key.
⠀
If your motive is wrong, you’ll never retain your clients or have a lucrative & sustainable business.
⠀
There are online coaches who genuinely care about their clients but also many who just want to make money from those who don’t know better.
⠀
If you’re someone looking for an online coach, do make sure they’ve got good experience & knowledge behind them, are honest, humble & authentic.
⠀
If you’ve read till here, thank you.
⠀
Please email or DM for all coaching enquiries.

  • Guten morgen ☀️☺️
.(Anzeige)
.
Hat jemand von euch schonmal CrossFit gemacht?🤔😏

  • • PANCAKES - opět a znova 🥞💞
• Všem přeji krásný víkend! 💕

  • This is me currently at 87kg. It’s the leanest I’ve been in my entire life. Not the lightest, but the leanest. 30 or so weeks ago I was weighing in at 97kg with a lot of extra fluff and decided it was time to lose some fat.
⠀
The process so far has been great. It’s taught me so much more about nutrition, my body, and fat loss in general. I’ve always said it’s important to practice what you preach and although I’ve been through the process of fat loss many times before, it’s always good to climatise myself again to the same conditions my clients go through to achieve amazing results when there goals are fat loss. There’s always something to learn and I learn something new every time.
⠀
Although it’s taken 30 or so weeks and I’m still not done yet, I don’t even feel like I’ve been dieting. It’s been the easiest cut I’ve ever gone through as my knowledge has substantially grown and my mindset has improved around nutrition.
⠀
In fact I’m actually eating more if anything. Volume that is! Calories have to be lower as a caloric deficit is required to lose fat but my food choices have shifted as I’ve got deeper into the cut and calories have dropped to ensure I’m still eating a high quantity of food so I never go hungry.
⠀
For example - when I started dieting I ate a lot of rice to hit my carbs, added honey to my oats and had a lot more oils and nut butters in my diet as my fat intake was higher. Now, I still eat all of that but not as frequently or with the same quantity as before. My carb choices have now favoured potatoes and sweet potatoes over rice, Most of the time I cook without any added oils and also add a lot more vegetable to my diet to make the meals bigger and to also meet my micronutrient requirements as naturally, eating lower calories means I’m not getting as many micros from my macro rich foods as I was before.
