A Sadhu (also known as Baba) is a Hindu ascetic who has chosen to leave family, friends, money, material possessions and sexual attachments to love a simple life, relying on donations of 'ordinary' people. They have basically renounced life as we know it.
Sadhus are the only ones in India allowed to smoke Charas (a form of cannabis) without risking any penalty.
