  • "Each of us is born brilliant. Then we spend the rest of our lives having our brilliance buried by people, circumstances, and experiences. Eventually, we forget that we ever had genius and special talents, and our brilliance is locked away in a vault deep within. So we settle for who we are, instead of striving for who we were meant to be." #moonlovers🌛 @moonlovers___

  • Wanna really get into my world a little bit? I’m gonna tell you guys why I’ve struggled so much with cardio. I make a joke of how it’s always been arch enemy haha but it actually stems from something a little deeper.
•
I’ve struggled with anxiety since high school, and I’ve had my ups and downs with it. Sometimes this resulted in panic attacks. I’ve only had a few in the last few years, but they were a bit more frequent back then. Even if I wasn’t having a full blown panic attack, I often felt a little short of breath or like I had a small weight on my chest. I still deal with this from time to time, even if I don’t know what’s causing it. •
So here’s the thing, the minute I start doing cardio and feel like I’m losing my breath I associate it with panic and anxiety. Even when I first started lifting and I’d feel out of breath, I would wonder why being out of breath made me so mad haha. But that was something I had to surrender and push through and come to peace with.

I started to notice that it was temporary, and that eventually my oxygen would kick in and my breathing would balance out. I just learned biologically why this happens and that it’s the body’s normal process. That was really healing to learn. Plus the more in shape we get, the more quickly our oxygen kicks in after we begin activity. I’ve already started to see that “second wind” kick in more quickly as I’ve started stepping out of my comfort zone and being more consistent with cardio. I didn’t use to stick with it much longer than those first few out of breath seconds because I would think... if it’s bad after one set hows bad is it gonna be 5, 10 minutes in. But if I had kept going I would have learned that wasn’t the case.

Learning to choose control over my breathing in my workouts instead of stopping and getting worked up over it, only to make it worse, has helped me in my anxious moments outside the gym. The endorphins have also helped my moods significantly. Plus it’s taught me to breathe, surrender and trust the process, because it’s shown me that even when it doesn’t feel possible, balance and rest will always return. 💕

  • "The one thing I know for sure is that feelings are rarely mutual. So when they are, drop everything, forget expectations, the two days between texts, the games, the hard-to-gets, because this is it. This is what the entire world is after and you've stumbled upon it by chance, by accident — so take a deep breath, take a step forward, embrace each other with both arms and let all the rules, the opinions and common sense crash down around you. Because this is love kid, and it's all yours."

  • HAPPY SATURDAY ✨

My previous post shows the view of the new hallway from the front door so this is the other way round! The Stud wall is up so we have a separate living room. It’s so much bigger than what I thought it would be so I’m really happy with the result! Can’t wait for the front door to go in! -
