  • Today’s training was one of humility and learning. 5 hour bike. 3 done on road before some GI issues sent me home, and I finished on the trainer. Disappointed that things didn’t go to plan (see last post ... heavy legs for days and a lot of self doubt) ... but I ticked the 5 hour 🚲 box in TP. Followed by a 30 min run. While it may have been a less than ordinary bike today (total 150km) I felt amazing on my run. I upped my pace on my intervals and got 4km done in 30min ... given I had gastro Thursday 🤮 and today’s bike nutrition - trying new things and seeing what worked - didn’t go to plan, I felt strong on my run. My ankle held up well. I finally feel like I’m building run fitness. Some lessons. I have learned from today is 1) I’m not stretching enough 2) I’m not stretching enough and 3) stretch more ... amidst all the heavy training I keep meaning to make ‘more’ time. But I never prioritise it ... today’s long session made me realise that my legs are heavy, they are tired, it’s normal, but I need to invest more time to take care of them. I’m asking a lot of my body and it keeps showing up and doing its job, but I need to self care a bit too so that it doesn’t fail me. Disclaimer: I did come off the treadmill and spew 🤮 so the feeling awesome lasted about two minutes 🤦🏻‍♀️
