USPS sucks. It has the most horrible service in mailing field. A letter from IRS mailed out in 2017 arrived at my home last week. But the envelope was opened deliberately by others, and resealed by USPS again with an apology note. I tried to file complaint online and call, no one give me responses or just said there is nothing to do!!! Seriously?! I am experiencing a risk of identify theft cause your misconduct, but you said it is not your business? USPS has no sense to take any responsibility or even improve their service to protect customer privacy!!! And IRS should using more secure method to mail letters!!!

  • If you forgot to report wages, income, interest, or commissions in your Tax Return, the IRS will prepare a Return on your behalf with all the omitted additions (which is not beneficial for you). You will get an official letter with your new tax liability.
Don’t panic, stress or rush to pay the tax due.

Last week I had a client that didn’t report his company income on his 2016 personal tax return. The IRS prepared a return for him based on the numbers they had in the system with a tax liability of $58,000.

After our meeting I amended his return and he only had to pay the IRS $3,000.
