برای من این صحنه از فیلم «زندگی زیباست»از جمله فراموش نشدنی ترین صحنه هایی است که درسینما دیده ام .واپسین لحظات زندگی گوییدو در اردوگاه مرگ نازی ها که برای شاد کردن والقای آرامش به پسرکوچکش جاشوا با شیطنت ولبخند وچشمک به سوی مرگ می رود تا جاشوا فکر کند که همان طور که زندگی مشقت بار او وپدرومادرش دراردوگاه یک بازی برای کسب مقام اول ورسیدن به تانک جایزه است ،مرگ نیزجزوی از بازی است .روبرتو بنینی در زندگی زیباست شاید یک مستند عینا حقیقی نساخته باشد اما از دل یکی ازسیاه ترین جنایت های تاریخ بشر ایمان وعشق وامید را تلقین می کند ودرپس چشمک وخنده شیطنت بار گوییدو غمی آمیخته با خنده تلخ بردل وصورت مخاطب می نشاند.زندگی زیباست بی شک موفق ترین اثر بنینی است که در سال ۱۹۹۸ -همان سالی که بچه های آسمان مجید مجیدی هم نامزد اسکاربود- توانست جایزه اسکاربهترین فیلم غیرانگلیسی زبان را به بنینی ذوق زده که ازشدت هیجان از روی صندلی های مراسم به سمت صحنه می پرید، برساند
