  • So, STORY TIME, I’ve come to the realisation that my current body fat levels really aren’t working for me. I ain’t gonna lie - I feel like shit, my hormones are out of balance and I have very low energy levels. Although my calories are still very high and I’m aiming to maintain rather than cut, im training huge amounts and I feel vv depleted. My lifts are absolute wank and I spend half my life about to cry rn ((((and, in the words of Skepta feat. JME, ‘thats not me’)))) I hadn’t clocked I was feeling so low until I realised, on more than one occasion, I just wanted to curl up and go 2 bed rather than train. Unprecedented scenes. However, I AINT NO WEAK BISH so I’ve done bare internetting and have come up with a nice plan to fix the issue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Essentially, it seems that, although I’ve been trying to eat in maintenance, I’m not doing a good enough job of fuelling myself for my current training volume. I have all the symptoms of someone who’s at the arse end of a long, lean cut, without the actual weight drop element. So, seeing as I need to maintain this weight for the next 6 weeks and (unless I stop lifting weights) (thank u, next) there’s no way for me to get my body fat up without gaining body weight, my plan is to regularly implement a refeed style carb load. I’ll do it intuitively through fairly clean carbs and stop eating when I feel satisfied. When ur body fat is low it’s often difficult to feel that sense of “fullness”; however, u can fix this by manipulating ur hormones and causing a Leptin spike. This surplus should also allow me to counteract any caloric deficit that i would have been clocking up that week and replenish the glycogen stores in my muscles. This (in theory) should allow me to maintain my current body weight whilst also rebalancing my hormones and stop me looking and feeling so flat. But we’ll see lol - hopefully this’ll sort me right out and I won’t continue being a permanent wetty for the next 6 weeks. LETS GET CARBY ⚡️⚡️⚡️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Planning on eating this bowl in 3 minutes 🎉🏆🤗 Just kidding!! 💁🏼‍♀️ I prefer to chew slowly and give my brain some time to register signals. Studies show it takes up to 20 minutes for us to know that we are full. So usually people who overeat tend to eat too quickly. Are you a slow or quick eater? 🤗 
What's in my bowl: spaghetti aglio olio peperoncino (you know - my favorite 🌶😍), grilled chicken breast in tomato basil seasoning, cherry tomatoes, roasted asparagus, avocado and arugula salad 🥑🍅🍗😍 It was so delicious. 
The full meal was 482 kcal with 35P, 38C and 21F. As you probably noticed, I love fats and I don’t limit them in my meals. They reduce the risk of heart disease, decrease inflammation and can help with weight loss. And make all my meals well balanced and healthy!!

  • My top goal for 2018 was to become one of the top trainers at Equinox. ✅ But much as I boast about my success, it’s come with some incredibly difficult sacrifices. The first of which was walking away from being a pro equestrian- something I poured 15 years of my life into. Last year came another sacrifice, giving up my own workout intensity after I had gotten myself into the best shape of my life. But like most things in life, it was only a temporary inconvenience. -

2019 my top goal is much different. It’s to lead a balanced life. Which means a lot of things. Dedication to my work (as always), to my family, my friends, my love life and MYSELF. 1 week down. 11 weeks to go. Already back to ripping 3 plates again 💪🏻

OHS; ‘Overhead Squat’
The OHS is the ultimate core exercise, the heart of the snatch and peerless in developing effective athletic movement. If you can already do a pretty heavy effective squat, your next goal is to open your shoulders, hips and ankles more before attempting the OHS. It helps by doing pass-throughs with a PVC pipe for warm up. .

Part of the reason overhead squat is so challenging is that it involves the whole body. There isn’t a body part that isn’t doing something to help you execute the move.

The overhead squat is a process. You want to make sure you have the squat and mobility foundation before you start working on technique. Take your time with reps. Every rep needs the same amount of focus. If you compromise just one, the set won’t be successful. AND keep practicing. Practice makes almost perfect. ✨ Shine through Weekend Warriors! ✨

  • Don’t be fooled by lighting or the fact it’s been a smooth ride up until now. I’ve been mentally distraught and beyond dying on a daily basis. Every time I do this I always contemplate why the fuck do I do this?? I still definitely don’t have the answer for that but part of me enjoys it a little I guess 😅. The other part of me really hates myself for it lol every time I’ve done this I do however learn quite a lot of new things not only about myself but also a lot about what makes me happy as a person. I’m finding the hardest road traveled tends not to be the one do you for other but the one you choose for yourself even if no one sees what you see at the end of the day. That’s enough for me to wake up in the morning and continue.
